I'm just curious as to the amount of shows that other people have been to.
I always thought that I'd seen a lot, and then I saw on the boards that people have seen ONE show 50+ times.
I average about one show a week, and at this point I've seen about 47 shows. Updated On: 2/24/05 at 10:39 AM

Does this also include "Broadway" tours? If not, then the total I've seen is 4 (soon to be 5). They were Thoroughly Modern Millie, La Boheme, Phantom of the Opera, and Beauty and the Beast (soon to be La Cage Aux Folles). I don't live that far from the city, but things can get expensive, so my parents don't take me often. They only took me once; the other times I go with school. Hopefully, now that I am older (soon to be 1re: How many BROADWAY shows have YOU seen???, I can make frequent trips to NYC with friends.

The tours I've seen were 42nd Street, Chicago, Urinetown, Oklahoma!, and the Producers. I might catch the Hairspray tour in September (unless I go to NYU I'll catch the Broadway cast).

Um, I have no idea. Are you talking about repeat performances? If you are, probably a thousand (I'm 24). If you're talking about unique shows each time, maybe 400?

I've been seeing shows since the 1950's. It would hurt my head to try and remember all of them. Lots, without repeats (which I rarely do).

29, including off-broadway and a tour, 24 strictly on Broadway, and 37 counting repeat trips.

I couldn't possibly begin to count. I started going to shows in 1979. When I was a kid, we used to come into the city all the time. I've lived in the city full time since 1992, and see about 2 to 3 shows a week. I've never been good with math.

I seem so pathetic next to you guys who've seen a lot of shows. I've only seen 2: the Annie Get Your Gun revival when I was 10, and Rent on December 29th, 2004 as a Christmas present.

The music ignites the night with passion and fire. The narration crackles and pops with incendiary wit.- Rent My name is Miranda, and I have a Godspell problem.

The comment about counting Playbills got me wondering - do most of you keep your Playbills? I never have and, now, I sort of wish I did. All those years and all those shows, it would be fascinating to go through them, now. But, I am the opposite of a pack-rat. I throw everything away.

I keep all my playbills, it helps me keep track of what I've seen and who was in what.
Unfortunately, I didn't keep stuff from before I lived in NY, so I'm missing programs from a few out of town performances, but I have all the Broadway Playbills from the 5 years I've been here.

I have a playbill for every show I've seen since, probably, 1998. Before that, except for my treasured "Passion" playbill signed by Sondheim and the cast, they are all gone.

When I last counted my Playbill collection (a few years ago), I had over 3,000 of them, dating back to 1963. I'm due to sit down and count them again.

BTW: the old Playbills are falling apart from the acid in the paper.

I think about 200 since we moved to NJ in 2000. That includes concerts, do-overs, London, Summer of Sondheim and Goodspeed.

We too have a Playbill from each show we've seen. My partner has taken great care of them, and stored them in those comic book bags with the cardboard. It's really nice to have them organized the way he does.

As we usually have 2 playbills for each show (1 for each of us), one gets stored, and the other goes into a bin... I keep thinking that I'm going to do something with them, like decopagé (did I spell that right?) an entire wall with the covers... <> but they are all still in the blue bin in the guest room...
