"Liza: At The Palace" comes out on dvd next week - 2/2. I've pre-ordered it on Amazon. How many people will be buying it?

Amazon shows the Blu Ray coming out next week as well - 2/2. Is the Blu Ray coming out later? Do you think that release date has been changed?

I'm buying the regular version.

Last time I checked there was no Blu-Ray release planned. Apparently, things have changed!

Ill burn my friend's copy. I wouldn't buy Liza's At The Luxor or whatever it is. Plus, the cover is false advertising. Who is that?

To be honest the Kay Thompson stuff bored me to tears- I could never sit and watch it. I just saw Liza in Buffalo, NY and basically the show was everything but the Kay Thompson sections and it was awesome.

It's on my Amazon wish list, and I'll definitely be buying the Blu-ray. But based on what I saw on PBS, I'm less than ecstatic about it. The production values were good and I'm sure it'll look great in HD, but I have to admit that I found Liza's lisp, or whatever speech impediment she's developed in recent years, (loose dentures?) extremely distracting. It didn't seem that pronounced when I saw the show live.

HD, in my opinion was invented for visual effects and nature programming not aging divas in lace front wigs with dentures issues as you noted. Not everything needs to be in HD. Just ask most of the actors on primetime television. They HATE it.

I'm not buying the DVD. DVR'd it and started to watch, but it didn't grab me. What I saw made me think Liza had lost her stage presence and was a caricature of herself. I'd rather watch "Liza With A Z." Just my opinion.

Ggersten, I saw Liza At The Palace in December of 2008 and she was unbelieveable! The second that curtain opened up and she stood there, she gave so much of herself. She has such a passion, such an energy.

As we all know, there are a handful of entertainers who you have to see live. The dvd just can't capture the engery.

Saw Liza again in July of 2009 in concert and she was amazing! Again, such a passion and star quality the moment she enters the stage.
