Sazzy2, I think J52 is kidding about spending $8000 on Hedwig! It's very funny.

I have to list mine to keep it organized (not the math wiz you guys might think :):

Sister Act Tour- $25
Anything Goes High School - $5
The Book of Mormon Tour - $100
The Book of Mormon Tour - $25 (Lotto)
The Book of Mormon Tour - $25 (Lotto)
The Book of Mormon Tour - $25 (Lotto)
Spring Awakening Community Theatre - $20
If/Then Broadway - $35 (Lotto)
You Can't Take It With You Broadway - $40 (Audience Rewards)
It's Only a Play Broadway - $37 (Rush)
Gentleman's Guide Broadway - $27 (Standing Room)
On the Town Broadway - $79
Pippin Broadway - $68
A Christmas Story Tour - $60
Newsies Tour - $54

Total: $625

I think I saw the same amount as last year, but I got way smarter about rush, lotto, and discount codes! A pretty good year for me!

About $2K for Broadway during a spring trip. About $1K for local productions and subscriptions.

"While personally it might mean something to you, I don't see the point in publishing the it or reading others. It has no meaning."

It's called curiosity. Some have it on this topic; others don't. Much like everything on this site.

I think it is an interesting question so I will answer it.

I probably spent about $1200 on tickets and saw about or 15-16 shows. Only one of those show, It's Only a Play, was full price $150 and the rest were discounted or TDF. Most inexpensive was This Is Our Youth at $39.

I wish it could have been more, but when you add up transportation/parking if I drive in, eating, etc, NYC commerce does very well on my love of theater.

The only review of a show that matters is your own.

I think this is an interesting topic. I saw 41 Broadway shows this year (23 different shows, other were repeated). Most tickets I purchased were student/rush/lottery but I splurged on a few shows to take my parents/family to including the lion king, hedwig and cabaret, all of which were full price. I spent about $2,500 for the year (yikes!). I agree, Broadway is a very expensive habit. haha

Just a reminder to everyone: if you're in any way involved in the entertainment industry you can write off all of your theater ticket purchases. It can be a bit complicated but it's worth it and will potentially save you a fortune if you go to the theater as often as most people on this board do.

Not showing off JoseLee just your way of finding pleasure--the hours preparing, the pre show excitement, the talking about after then thinking about and the memories whenever you feel up or down---what a harmless and wonderful way to spend your money--hope 2015 will bring you as much pleasure and bugger the bank account !

@SweetLips thank you. I'm homeschooled and have no friends.. haha sad but true. Stage dooring and talking to other theatre geeks makes me so happy!

Happy Holidays to everyone :)

I spent $1,099 on theatre tickets last year, but a vast majority of that was buying tickets for other people to see the show/s I'm working on.

My best tix deal in 2014 was a $54 Ready Pass at a local theater that allowed me to see a local production of Les Miz 10x!  It was a very good production too!

I usually get rush tickets so my on average price per ticket is about $35.  I probably saw around 25 shows in 2014.
