With yet another drop of 5.5% this week to a gross of only $675K. I imagine it's weekly running costs are in that range, but any further dip may shutter this show by the end of the fall. That Marquis is a barn to fill with the show's potential gross of $1,555,000.

Looks like another good show will go down the drain.

Surprised it hasn't picked up for the summer. If this trend continues, I can't see it surviving through the fall. Honestly, I was put off by Gloria complaining about the lack of Tony nominations it received.

Anyone know if it recouped?

There has been no word on recoupment yet. But with a capitalization of 14 million plus, it may still be awhile.

Totally unfounded opinion, but I'm personally predicting it'll be another victim of January 1, 2017.

I was more turned off by her eye-roll worthy "look at me stealing the spotlight" moment at the Tonys

Are there still plans for Gloria to join the show? Maybe that will help it.

^ At this point, it's the only thing that might help it.

Would it work better than Sting did when he went into The Last Ship?

Or the producers thought that bringing her on to promote her own show (which she has been very involved with since the beginning and still sees when ever she is in town) was a good idea to get the general american audience interested. Was Sara Barellies' appearance also a "stealing the spotlight moment too"?
Anyways, the fact that they were over 1 mil all throughout January (except for the one week) is actually impressive. They were at a million only a month ago as well. It is just a weird year, and they aren't the only ones experiencing this. Shuffle Along was over a million just a month ago (if even that long), and now they are not hitting $800K. It's an industry wide problem at the moment. Even shows that were hoping for a "post-closing announcement push" such as Matilda and Curious Incident are falling faster than usual. I looked at the grosses from the matching weeks from the past few years, not only are many of the shows down, but overall gross is as well (even though there are more shows open).
It will leave when the time is right. They do have a few things going for them: 1) Not many people are knocking down the doors of the Nederlanders to take the Marquis, 2) If they need to go to royalty waivers, the creative team seems like people who would be on board, 3) its not like they have to worry about a stop clause.

Business did improve for The Last Ship when Sting went into the show, it was just that the advance for it after his scheduled departure wasn't very good.

With all its struggles, it has never shown up on TDF. Wonder why.

It would be a smaller role than Sting's was, but I think it could work.

I imagine it has something to do with the Estefans' image. They are producing the show after all.

When I went on a random Sunday afternoon it was sold out. I lost the lottery(which I usually win). I ended up getting tickets from TKTS.
