ok,I just found out that the first musical I ever saw was Sound of Music when I was 4. I got the album right after that. It wasn't Broadway though so I don't know if that counts.

i was 5 or 6 when i saw Crazy For You. I remember that I loved it and it's my 2nd favorite now. I remember that I loved the tap dancing. And at the end of the show, I gave a standing ovation and I had no idea what that was at the time.

-Dre- You must remember all the same that at the crux of every game is knowing when it's time to leave the table... And it's important to be artful in your exit. No turning back, you must accept the con is done... It was a ball, it was a blast. And it's a shame it couldn't last. But every chapter has to end, you must agree.

Well technically for this specific question, I would have to say 13 when I first saw Rent.
But in terms of other aspects, my aunt played the Cabaret movie soundtrack for me when I was 4 and I listened to it every single day, I loved it. Same w/ Sound of Music movie when I was 6. Both were stepping stones for my eventual broadway love.

First show I saw was Me and My Girl in 3rd grade. That's when I fell in love with the theatre. I was 16 when I really fell in love with my first show. I was in an awful production of Once on this Island, and even though the show sucked, I loved the score and story and possibilities of theatricality it offered.

I saw Les Mis on TV (the 10th anniversary thing) when I was barely 3 years old, and my dream was to be young Cosette on BWAY, but I'm too old now. But that's how it started. I'd been watching musicals since I was about 1 though, but Les mis was the first to really make an impact.

Les Miserables. I was about 8 years old when I saw the concert on TV. I think my parent's biggest mistake was giving me the Original London Recording because I listened to it over and over again. Then they got me the Concert VHS for Christmas that year. I still have it and I still love it.

I was born and bred to be in musical theatre. My mother was in the business as well as some of my other family members. My early years were filled with records and eight tracks of many Broadway shows. First Broadway show was A CHORUS LINE with Vicki Frederick as Cassie.

It wasn't on Broadway (I live too far) but I saw The Wizard of Oz onstage for the first time when I was 4. I was raised on my parents' collection of cast recordings; I practically wore out The Music Man and Annie.

My mom took me to see A Chorus Line in a nearby theatre when I was about 11 (not her wisest choice ever...) and I adored it. The first show I went crazy for was Wicked... I have yet to see a Broadway show (I lack the funds...) but am going to see RENT next month and I saw the POTO tour... that confirmed my decision to pursue theatre as a career. A Chorus Line is responsible for my obsession, though.
Am I cut out to spend my time this way?

The first musical I remember seeing was when I was about 14 (Victor&Victoria), it was just a small production.
My dad for some reason loves Evita and we have a recording at home (it's not the OBC, but I'm not quite sure which one it is), and I grew up having to sing "Don't cry for me Argentina" for him (so weird, considering I didn't even understand it for the longest time since I didn't speak English......lol).
When I was about 15 somebody gave my us a CD with a collection of Broadway Hits. I LOVED it. I would sing the songs on the school bus.........lol.
It took me till I was 19 and I finally got to go to NYC to get to see my first show. 42nd Street! It was blown away.
Have been obsessed ever since........

The first show I saw was Oklahoma (the revival at the Gerschwin, I'm not that old!), I was like 9. Although I REALLY loved the experience I didn't really fall in love with Broadway in general until I was about 10 or 11.

For me, it was "Les Miserables," but it happened in stages.
I grew up going to the touring productions of shows like "Camelot" and "Brigadoon."
I then fell in love with the original cast recording of "The Phantom of the Opera" when I was 14. Still have my old LPs of it.
When I was sixteen, I saw "Les Miserables" on the tour. Don't remember who was Valjean...but Anthony Crivello was Javert and Hugh Panaro was Marius at the time.
I've been a musicals junkie ever since.

first show i saw was the Lion King at about eight. Wicked did it for me though.
I'm kind of a sweat pant, t-shirt, no make-up type of girl. So once a year, I can get spiffy.

The Fantasticks at age 4.
Apparently I sat there in awe the entire time. To this day, it's one of my favourite shows! :)
