Heather and Paul were always ganging up on her. Bernie wanted to keep her, but Heather, well, she is the writer wanted her gone, and Paul couldn't stop her. I bet Jerry had something to do with it. They all knew that she was Jewish, even if she didn't "look" it.

Although Rihannon's acting suits the role of Margot, I still don't think that her singing is up to standards. Margot is more than a glorified ensemble member, she is the "best friend" of Elle... I mean, there is a group of three of them: Margot, Pilar, and Serena... but she is the biggest role of the three. I mean, it's not a huge role but she sings more than Vivienne (a shame, because I wish Kate Shindle would sing more). The original Margot, Annaleigh Ashford, who definitely had the chops as well as the acting for the show. She was great in that role~!

Obviously, they used the final four for the publicity and sales. Just look at the show, it's a franchise. But I loved the show, the original broadway cast members in particular. They gave something to the show. I think Lauren is too young still, but I guess it's more realistic she plays an ensemble member... I guess we'll see how it all pans out. Rihannon... yeah. Bailey is too young as well. They chose her over Autumn because she looked the part... and honestly, Autumn's acting wasn't as strong for the role of Elle. Elle is ditzy but still can make smart comments, which I don't feel Autumn had down as well.

~Who knows? They might have put Autumn in the role of a smaller ensemble member Leilani so when Bailey is up, she assumes the role of Elle.
And why would they have Emma do Elle twice a week? She wasn't even in the top 5, so they wouldn't have her, it wouldn't make sense. If they were at all interested in Emma as Elle, they would have kept her longer... in the way that "she would take over after Bailey"... I'm not saying they won't ever use her, but it doesn't make sense.

She may have more solo lines to sing, but Vivienne clearly has harder stuff to sing. Neither Bailey nor Autumn (and certainly not Rhiannon) would be able to hit those notes at the end of the Legally Blonde remix the way Kate does (consistently and effortlessly, I might add).

It is very sad that this kind of discrimination exists today. Especially, in one of the country's most liberal cities. Heather hated Emma, because she was Jewish. She felt that Elle could only be played by Christian women, because in the film, there is no mention of Elle being Jewish, and she did not want a Jewish girl playing a character like Elle. Bernie was opposed to this, but Paul was for it, so, they let her go. I wouldn't be surprised if Jerry and the other girls were in on this.

Notice that they eliminated the only African American on the show in the first round, too. Also, Bernard Telsey is a racist.

PLAYBILL.COM
The Color Purple is very high maintenance. It's a big company and there's not a lot of African-American talent out there, and now we have the tour and Broadway company.

How MORONIC can one person be?

I can see where you are coming with that. I feel like Margot leads Omigod though... and they both sing in both songs... if that makes sense haha. I feel like Margot is more dispersed, while Serena's main thing is Bend & Snap, which is a good point dinglehopper.

Emma, WTF?? She got eliminated because she was a big bag of excuses, "I quit smoking & I'm sick". She isn't good, the only reason she got as far as she did is because of her Daddy. Also really, Broadway doesn't like Jews?; Idina Menzel a JEW originated a role in the biggest show on Broadway right now, your right Broadway is a place for Anti-Jews.

And I recall a scene during "Chip On My Shoulder" on the MTV broadcast where Tracy as Serena changed the calendar to December and, while wearing a Santa suit I believe, pulled out a menora.

I guess they discriminate only on Zaks' then?

And that was an incorrect stereotypical portrayal of a Jew. I still enjoy the show, but they could've left out Christmas, if they weren't going to do Hanukkah right.

WHY DOES EVERYONE HATE EMMA? JUST BECAUSE SHE IS JEWISH? HER FATHER FACED A LOT OF DISCRIMINATION! HER GRANDMOTHER WAS IN AUSCHWITZ! HER GRANDFATHER HAD TO LIE AND LIVE AS A GENTILE! WHY PUT HER THROUGH ALL OF THIS!???? IT'S NOT FAIR!!! EMMA DESERVED THE PART! SHE WAS THE BEST SINGER, BEST ACTRESS, AND MAYBE NOT THE BEST DANCER, BUT SHE WAS STILL THE BEST OVER ALL OF THEM! NONE OF THEM WERE GREAT DANCERS! IT'S SAD THAT EMMA HAS TO FACE THIS DISCRIMINATION!

I changed my image to a different picture of a great actress, because in this one, she looks so happy, and I just feel so sad when I see how happy she was and what a horrible time she went through with discrimination and all. What they did to her was horrible! Why ruin a 26 year old's life? Especially, one who is the granddaughter of Holocaust survivors. She must be an emotional wreck still. I am really sad seeing this picture, because it just makes me think that she could have been the star, but it was all because she was Jewish.
