Posted: 4/9/11 at 6:15pmI walked by the theater around 9:45 this morning and there seemed to be a hundred people outside. I'm guessing it was the rush line?

Posted: 4/9/11 at 9:51pmWe got there 2 weeks ago for Wed Mat at 8:30 and got 2 tickets second row all the way to the stage left.

Posted: 4/9/11 at 10:46pmI arrived in the line at 9:30am last Friday, and I got one ticket for $30,00. It was the worst seat I've ever seen. C15. Avoid this seat at all costs!

Posted: 4/18/11 at 7:36pmRushed Sat morn, got on line about 8:10, was about 25th. I had 8 people with me, and we all got tickets for that evening's perf. I was in the box, an awful seat, but at least I saw it. Someone in my group got C5, so it's a crashoot. My advice is to go on a 2 show day and leave both open as a possibility. The guy running the rush said if you're in the first half of the line, you should have your choice.

Oof. Of course, my mom refuses to leave early so we can get in the rush line at a reasonable time.
Thank you all for your information, and again, any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

Posted: 4/18/11 at 10:40pmI am guessing that they just hold the ones they're selling. They are all partial view (boxes, extreme sides towards the front). I bet they just don't sell those in advance because they always seem to have a ton of rush tickets, even when the performances are sold out.

I think this is true! I went Saturday as well and got there at 7:30 and was 6th in line. The 3 people in front of me got row C, the last 3 seats on the right, I got row D 3rd seat from the far right! It wasn't that bad of a view at all! I missed very little on the right side and towards the back, totally worth the ticket. However, like someone said, the last seat in row C is AWFUL! I dunno how the girl there saw anything!

Posted: 4/18/11 at 11:03pmI'm jealous, Pianolin! The view from the box was pretty obstructed, not to mention what you did see was like a side view. The box office people were just randomly pulling up partial view seats.

Aww!
what a shame!! and yeah! that's very weird that they were just pulling it randomly!
ALSO I meant to say that someone asked the guy opening the door right before the box office opened how many seats they had and he said he's never seen a show with less than 20 seats to sell

Posted: 4/19/11 at 9:24amAbout a week and a half before opening, I got to the rush line at 7:30 a.m. on a rainy Wednesday morning and was first in line. Two minutes later, people started arriving. I was given the center aisle seat in the first row on the right side (stage left) for $30. Great view, except I couldn't always see footwear.

Posted: 4/19/11 at 9:53amMy friend and I got there at 10am last Sunday and got 2 tickets in the right box. Excellent seats- very close to the stage and I didn't feel like I missed anything of importance. There were about 30 people already in line when we got there, and we heard they had about 50 tickets. A few people behind us also got tickets, but I doubt everyone did.

Posted: 4/19/11 at 10:43amEden, where in the right box were you sitting? I was in the second row, all the way to the right...my view was not as good as yours.

I'd rather watch a shaky, out of focus bootleg of the show than sit in the boxes at that theater.
When I sat there for HAIR, I left after about 5 minutes, found the house manager and demanded we be moved to new seats. Partial View should not mean NO view and the fact they still sell them is really sick.

Posted: 4/19/11 at 10:53amI had a great view of stage right. It was just upstage left that was blocked off. It was annoying, but I still saw the show.

Well I rushed for the matinee today, we got stuck in the Lincoln Tunnel and I actually got on the line at 9:20-ish. The line was backed up to Caroline's, and by the time I was in the box office, they only had standing room. Standing actually wasn't terrible, I should do it more often. Great view, back of house right (stage left), and 2 women in the seats in front of me left at intermission, so my Mom and I jumped to get the seats.
It was a very fun, very cute show. Daniel got thunderous entrance applause, and he actually did a lot better than I was expecting. John Larroquette is hilarious. Rose Hemingway and Mary Faber are very sweet and sing like birds. Christopher Hanke chews Derek McLane scenery. Beautiful production with bright, fun colors and sets. Rob Ashford's direction and choreography won't be a letdown. Very good show overall.

Posted: 4/20/11 at 9:00pmI think I would've preferred to stand, and you're lucky you got those seats for Act 2. You probably had a better view than I did. And I also agree with you on your assessment of the show.

Yeah, the Standing Room seats were a full view of the stage, but the mezzanine just cut off the top third of the stage, where J.B.'s office and Ms. Jones's perch was. At those points in the show, I had to kneel down to see them, but otherwise, it was a great view, and standing didn't bother me much.
I highly recommend it.

My sister tried to rush this morning (Friday). She arrived at the box office at 7:45 and was 15th in line. She didn't get a ticket.
The cheapest option available was partial-view standing room for $90.
