How can I stream the Tonys to view them live on the West Coast? I don't want to watch them on my computer. I want to watch them on my big screen tv. I have Apple TV and Amazon Firestick. What do I need to do? Thanks in advance from this media challenged aging theater lover.
Get CBS all access. You can get it free for one week.
Oh perfect. Thank you so much.
Does CBS all access do live streaming? I struggled with it couple years ago before realizing my boyfriend had an unopened cable thingy which gave us access to network television (missed Kristin and Alan's opening monologue but oh well!). I hope you get to watch it live, DAME :)
Cheap HD antennas are supposed to be pretty amazing these days. And often are full 1080p, which is better than most satellite and cable images.

The question is regarding being able to watch the show live in a different time zone since the broadcast is only live in the east.
I just clicked "watch live" on my All Access and it's giving me my Seattle station, so I doubt you'll be able to watch the Tonys live from there. I'm hoping to find a way to watch live from my TV (I just have Roku), too.

The promos in LA say you can stream it live .

Ah, but do they mean actual Live (EDT) or local "Live" (PDT)? All I'm seeing at CBS are phrases like "Stream your local live broadcast... "
I used CBS All Access a couple years ago to watch the Tonys on East Coast time, but had to (a) fake the location settings in my browser, and (b) use a VPN set to an East Coast location before it would work. Unless they've changed their geo-restrictions, you might find yourself in the same situation.
I usually watch a free live stream on this site http://www.stream2watch.cc/live-television/united-states/cbs-live-stream
It is fine quality, but occasionally cuts out, but not too many problems usually. I watch that to get the results and then watch it again right away when it's actually on here, to just enjoy it in HD.

I just read CBS All Access' FAQ and unfortunately it does confirm that it uses location services to stream your local CBS station.
I use ustvnow.com to stream shows when I don't have access to a tv and it works pretty well. You do have to make an account but it doesn't require any kind of credit card information.
You can use the site while you're on the west coast and it will be streaming from the east coast.
Crap..
I don't have a TV but signed up when YouTubeTV went live a few months ago in San Francisco (and a few other markets). It gives me about 40 channels, all the locals plus cable sports, news, kids, and entertainment channels. Like other services mentioned above, it uses my location to show me local channels. It may be possible to tinker with the settings but I'm not that savvy or invested to do so. My only fear is that YouTubeTV has said some major one-time shows might not be made available. I'm thinking things like the Super Bowl, Oscars, etc. So far nothing has been unavailable. So fingers crossed the Tonys WILL be shown. (Since I rarely watch TV the Tonys were one of the reasons I got it...and for when the Giants and Warriors are in the playoffs. Go Warriors! Beat Cleveland!)

A few years ago when that awful broadcast of London's Gypsy was on and not available in the USA someone on here gave step by step instructions on how to change location and VPN to access it. Wish I remembered them.
I don't know if it would work, but you can get a chrome extension which affectively works as a VPN. I use Hola for switching locales (countries), not sure of this would work for time zones. Worth trying.
Hopefully it's working tomorrow, but I tried out Ustvnow.com on my iPhone and iPad and it works very well! Hopefully it is working smoothly tomorrow!

Anyone know how to watch the creative arts awards not given out on CBS??
USTVNow is odd. I activated a new account, but got a message that stated based on my computer settings I am currently in the United States and the service is unavailable to me. Please check back when traveling abroad. But then it lets me access and watch all the channels. Hope I don't get a knock on my door in the middle of the night from the USTVNow Police! LOL
Bumping in case anyone has more info.

I successfully changed my geolocation in Google Chrome to watch it with CBS All Access.
Can you explain how to change my geolocation in Chrome? My darn kids are not around to help out their poor, old mom. My 5:00 pm Tony viewing party is going to totally suck if I can't figure this out. Thank you for any help!!!

No problem!
1. Open Chrome.
2. Press Ctrl + Shift + I (Windows) or Cmd + Option + I (Mac) to open Chrome Developer Tools
3. Press Esc, then select Sensors
4. There will be an option to change your GeoLocation. Change it to Custom Location. You will need to insert coordinates for latitude and longtitude. I searched a random spot in Manhattan on Google maps and got my coordinates there.
5. Refresh your browser.
6. CBS All Access should show the Tonys to be at 5 PM (I live in San Diego) now.
Important Note: DO NOT CLOSE THE CHROME DEVELOPER TOOLS (the ones that look like lines of code). THE GEOLOCATION WILL RETURN TO DEFAULT IF YOU DO.
You're the BEST!!!! Thank you SO much!!!
Thanks theater_tech! Now there's two good options! I'll probably use UStvnow since I can airplay it to my apple tv, but if that ends up not working, I can just ariplay my laptop with CBS!
