Kennedy didn’t post it again. I was offering my one-letter response, which is one letter more than it deserves."

Nope. He is embarrassing himself. He is not an American citizen so he didn't vote for either of them. Him singing at an event for Hillary means nothing. He is friends and a supporter of the Trumps even after all the things they have done, he has said he is still their friend. You may be fine looking the other way but I am not."
Actually, Hugh's bio says he has a dual citizenship: US and Australia

Hugh says he carries dual passports - Australian ( where he was born) and British ( because of his parentage). But he has resided in NYC since late 2008. Apart from his film and stage career ( most recent of which were filmed in the USA - Logan/GreatestShowman/FrontRunner/BadEducation), he has NY-based advocacies. He is also BroadwayCares/EFA overall highest fundraiser! Since 2008, he has been in 3 Broadway shows ( Steady Rain in 2009/BackOnBroadway in 2011/TheRiver in 2014).
He has 2 adopted kids who were born in the USA who presumably carries USA citizenship ( not sure if they are also Australian due to parentage).
Actually Hugh Jackman has never said that he supports Donald Trump’s presidency. He and Ivanka Trump served on the same charity board and they became friends because of their mutual interest in improving the lives of children. And that’s it. From what I have read, they have an understanding and she is fine with the fact that he does not support many of her father’s policies. Theatergoers of whatever mindset are free to spend their money as they see fit or bypass shows they do not want to see. But it's foolish to set one's litmus test based on false information, innuendo or gossip.

Did you forget about The Boy From Oz? That is the reason he is so in demand on Broadway.

"
No, I did not include it because I only included those engagements since he became a resident of NYC in 2008. He lived in NYC for the yearlong engagement of TheBoyFromOz but it was just for the duration of the run. What I have noted is that he has become a New Yorker, too, with professional, personal, and advocacy interests in the area.
But of course it was The Boy From Oz which made Hugh a Broadway favorite! I will never forget how it was at the Closing Show, including how the late Barbara Cook gave me some confetti-type stuff to throw to the cast at curtain call. And Barbara Walters became Peter/Hugh's interest and brought up on stage with Matt Damon who gamely joined in the fun! And Joel Grey was there, too...After the show, I could not believe the crowd that gathered at the stagedoor - and I thought " Broadway is so alive!"
Hope to see that kind of enthusiasm again IF and WHEN we get a chance to see THE MUSIC MAN. I have just read an interview with Allison Janney ( Hugh's co-star in BAD EDUCATION) and she was excited to say "I hope I get to work with him many more times. I just hope Broadway re-opens, because I want to see him in 'The Music Man' so badly!" https://www.aceshowbiz.com/news/view/00154259.html?utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=twitter

Again, my opinions are being misinterpreted.
Let me explain myself, I have an opinion...and an informed one. Just don't respond or block me.
Everyone has informed opinions- and particularly in this case- each person has to decide for themselves what risks they are willing or not willing to make. I cannot wait to see Music Man- really looking forward to it and the trip to NYC- when things begin to open up and feel safe again. Personally, I do not care who Jackman's friends are- and I am aware that- as always- the rich do okay doing most crises- and lower income people- as always- are hit the hardest. That is the way it is in a capitalistic society. I feel great sadness for the families who have lost loved ones during this pandemic- and am trying to keep myself and my partner in good health and in good spirits. I doubt September will be the start date for MM- but when it happens, I will be there at some point- as will many of you on this board. And I do read other opinions- and read some of the Trump stuff- not too much because it makes me nauseous- but I like to be aware of what he is peddling. I will not block you, kennedy_rose- but I did respond- but do not read this if you do not want to.
Hugh Jackman has a relationship of some sort with a member(s) of the Trump family. I don't care. I didn't care about that relationship last year when I saw his concert here in Southern California. And I won't care about that relationship should I be fortunate to see Music Man. I care only about the performance.

So, what happens when your rights start being compromised or taken away. Will you still be reminiscing over Mr. Jackman's performance?

My career was spent in service to the United States as a member of the U.S. Navy. My job, in part, was to defend your rights to say such incredibly stupid things as you do. On this Memorial Day, don't even think about lecturing me on "rights". Hugh Jackman singing "76 Trombones" will not compromise or take away my rights......or yours.
I am a moderate leaning on liberal who hate Trump with a passion of million suns, but I agree with Highlight. It’s unfortunate that a decent man is friends with Trump’s son (?), but it is what it is. And I promise you Hugh has nothing to do with our rights getting taken away or why 100,000+ people are dying under our “president’s” eye.
Anyway, if the show is getting moved to January like everyone else, it would be great to know. I really would like the money back.
I also hate Trump and Trumpism- which will compared and contrasted with McCarthyism as a blight on American politics and society in general- but I also am very wary of fanatics on all sides of the spectrum. kennedy_rose does not understand that the fanaticism of-- my way or no way --has no place in a free society and is actually anti- democratic and very destructive in so many ways. I say to kennedy- fine if you want to ban everyone who has a different view from yours-- but for me, I hope the Amercan electorate is smart enough to vote Trump and those of his ilk- out.
If you want to cancel Hollywood types for who they’re friends with, you’ll most likely end up having to cancel all of them at some point. Most of those people rub elbows with pedophiles, corrupt politicians, and more, so it’s always been strange to me whenever people single certain actors out.

What planet are you from? There is no way that anything is opening in 2020. Dream if you want, but you will be in for a huge disappointment. I have already adjusted my expectations, and it has actually helped. I have not received refunds for MM and a couple of shows I already had tickets for in the fall, but I know that I will at some point. It will not just be a risk for theatre cast and crew, as well as audiences. It will be a huge risk for theatre owners who fear opening prematurely will further delay the eventual real re-opening, and maybe even sour people to theatre attendance if there is any indication that theater attendance caused an increase in cases (and even deaths) as so many people who attend the theatre regularly are older, and more vulnerable.
I am thinking March, 2021 for previews and April for actual performance- MM, Plaza Suite, maybe Moulin Rouge- and a few dithers- very few shows will start up at first, I bet- but in time, BWAY will be back- slowly but surely- but this is if there is not a big resurgence of the virus in the fall and winter months. If that happens in a big way- which we all hope does not happen- all bets are off.
