Well, the only reason Bashoff came to SA was because of the writer's strike and him not being able to work on LOST.

To be honest, a part of me is kind of excited that he's leaving. This has no reflection on his amazing performance, but I'm kind of rooting for a leave. If he leaves, he will return to LOST, which is my favorite show!
But when I think about it, LOST is going to be done filming their current season by May 18th, the rumored date of his departure. LOST is going back into production ASAP, which would mean he's either not coming back this season or going to leave/break from Spring Awakening sooner than May.

does anyone think Blake did an okay job in SA? just want to hear some more opinions about it. so far i've heard nothing but good things...just wondering if they are true from people who have actually seen him and not just heard about his success through others.

I last saw Glenn on January 15, and he was still awful then. I had kind of hoped he would grow into the role a little bit, but apparently not. It was a train wreck when I saw it then (the low points being Left Behind and Whispering), and it sounds like it is still awful. It's a shame, because there are many, many actors who could play that role.

As for Mr. Bashoff...now that the strike is over, Lost is going back into production to film 5 additional episodes. His character is still alive, and still very much a part of the action. I'm wondering if he may need to go on leave to film those 5 episodes, or if something is going to happen to happen to his character in the interim that would negate that. The are four episodes that were filmed pre-strike still to air, so perhaps something will happen in those episodes.

Kasie, I was sort of lukewarm on Blake. Acting-wise, he was great, and he definitely had the character and the teenage mannerisms down. But when he sang, particularly at points where the music suddenly changed volume or pitch ("Don't Do Sadness," "And Then There Were None") I really missed Gallagher. Gallagher was just better at those sudden voice changes, and he handled them with much less noticeable effort. It felt natural, whereas with Blake it felt like "This is what the sheet music says, so I am forcing my voice to do it."

Minor complaint, but there you go.

I LOVE Blake Bashoff...I've seen him a number of times as well as Gallagher, of whom I have nothing bad to say.

One of the biggest things that made him wonderful is the suicide scene. It is beautiful and moves me more than Gallagher ever did.

I have no problems with his voice at all...it is indeed different from Gallaghers, but in no way lesser.

Of course it's all about choices and which ones work better for you.
