Me, too!!! I really want him to finally be recognized for his talent. He truly broke your heart as Buddy. Just a beautiful, heartfelt performance.

I finally got it to work and it was only after a friend sent me a text saying 'CONGRATULATIONS' that I thought 'Thank God!' I'm in tech right now so I'll spend the rest of the day in tech until midnight, but for this I'll do it! -- D. Burstein

He was...but I also think Norm Lewis and Steve Kazee were actually just as good. I do think if Burstein was nommed in supporting (like Gene Nelson was), he'd walk away with it, no contest. But this category is extremely competitive between four people (I don't think Raines is much of a factor as the others).

I have to say - Danny's turn as Buddy in Follies was the best performance I saw last year. And I'm rooting for him to win the Tony!

There are four nominees I am enthusiastically rooting for: Burstein, Light, McDonald and Arianda. It will be thrilling to watch any of them win a tony this year, and the prospect of all of them winning is very exciting.

I'll be happy if either Burstein or Kazee win. My head tells me Kazee should win, but my heart is with Burstein.

The Tony voters like to give the awards to young actors who give impressive and charismatic performances in their Broadway lead debut (Sutton Foster-Thoroughly Modern Millie and John Lloyd Young-Jersey Boys come to mind). I'd put my money on Jeremy Jordan.

bobs3-they also like to reward respected veterans who have paid their dues and never won-Danny Burstein would seem to fit the bill.

He also departed from his usual comedic track and took a chance with Buddy. It was the best performance in the show (which says a lot since it's usually about the women).

He was excellent, but he's not a shoo-in.

Older Tony who saw the original voters might compare him negatively to Gene Nelson, and he'll have strong competition from Norm, who might be rewarded for giving a strong, solid performance in a classic role even though he is overshadowed by his illustrious co-star, and from Steve Kazee, an excellent actor who is baring his soul open every night onstage under trying personal circumstances.

It could be any one of the three of them and it would be a well-deserved award.

^ I agree. For the first time in recent memory, I actually enjoyed all 5 nominated actors (with Jordan winning me over from Paper Mill, when I didn't love him). But my favorite of the bunch by far was Kazee. I wouldn't mind a Kazee/Burstein tie. If Steve wins, I cannot even imagine how emotional his speech would be.

i've never cried watching the Tonys, but by golly if Steve wins, I can almost guarantee I'll be crying watching his speech. with the loss of his mom coupled with the wonderful reviews he's gotten in the show, what a beautiful moment that would be to see him win :)
