Is Patti done doing big productions on Broadway? Was Gypsy her final career bending show? I'm still holding out for her to do a Hello Dolly Revival but I just miss Patti on broadway. Please come back, Mrs. Lupone. We all miss you.
Jesus Christ, calm down. She just did a show a couple of years ago, it's not like she packed up and moved to Romania, vowing to never again set foot on the stage.
Smoke some weed and chill the f*ck out.

Dolly won't be happening as long as Herman won't allow Jack O'brien and LuPone to do a new production. He only wants a carbon copy production.
I thought Jerry Herman wanted Lupone to play Dolly? I would so love for that to happen!! I want her to come back to broadway already!!!!!
In an original musical! Someone get the next to normal team stat!
I remember Jason Robert Brown saying in an interview earlier this year that there was a possibility of him doing a project with Patti

^ And her dropping out of Candide at BSO next June due to a scheduling conflict would lend credence to that.
Wilmingtom, do you know what Patti will be doing in June?
I think Wilmington is supposing that the alleged JRB/LuPone project will be happening in June.
Lol yea I wonder if she knows what it is
Weren't her and Mandy doing a show on Broadway a few seasons ago?
Just a concert of sorts. (Which I loved, BTW.)
Oh God I hope she never does HELLO, DOLLY! because she has absolutely no charm, which is the #1 requirement for the role of Dolly.
If anyone should revive Hello, Dolly! it certainly should be Miss LuPone, who is the perfect choice for Dolly.
And by the way - Miss LuPone is very charming.
Even if you think that Patti is good for Dolly (she isn't), there are several actresses out there now who could pull of the role way better than Patti "no consonants" LuPone. Marin Mazzie, Faith Prince, or Christine Ebersole would probably be my top choices, as they all might have what it takes to do Dolly. However, I really can't think of one actress that instantly seems like she is Dolly quite like Carol Channing was.
Maybe she can star in a revival of Sunset Boulevard on Broadway

She's doing a Showtime show next so it'll probably be awhile. I'd feel the same way if it wasn't for catching her in the one night benefits she did for The Actors Fund and Equality of Love.
mjohnson2, all of those actresses would be inspired... in MAME.
I would love to see Marin Mazzie in MAME (and perhaps she is less suited for Dolly) but those other two actresses I don't think have the right look for Auntie Mame. I also really enjoyed Sally Struthers in the role, though not quite enough to see her on Broadway.
