Let's be honest, 'we' wouldn't have let Adam Shankman anywhere near Hairspray. Travolta as Edna? Never in a million years would 'we' have permitted it. That kid from the Disney musical as Link? 'We' don't think so.
I guess 'we' were wrong. And, yes, I was part of 'we'...

Thanks to Marc Shaiman, who repeatedly came on to pacify and clear-up rumors and mis-information, I think most of us (including me) knew that Adam Shankman and all involved were going to do good justice to HAIRSPRAY.

Hey, I've been supportive from the get-go. Just because some movie professionals have shown they don't exactly know what they're doing when filming shows doesn't mean they're all like that. My faith and optimism have paid off in spades this time! Here's hoping Burton "pulls a Shankman" and I feel similarly vindicated after 'Sweeney Todd'.

Posted: 7/20/07 at 5:14pmI was on board from the beginning. My only concern was Zac, and it had nothing to do with his acting or his singing.. it was his look. The first images of Link that were released didn't look so great, IMO. I was wrong, as he looked great in the film.
