At a top price of $ 140 a pop (I believe), I will stick with the movie. The cast is better by far.
I realise it has a short run but the price is much to high. The upper reaches of the theater might be worth exploring but I have to get in to the city to check.
Seeing the Royal Family next Saturday night so may check than.
>When does it open? I know that it starts previews on November 13, but it does not say what the opening night is.<
There is no opening. It will be open as of November 13.
How many triple threats are there out there? Meredith is like a quadruple threat. Dance, Sing, Act, and Tap!! Oh, and she's tall, and gorgeous.
Sorry...I'd love to see someone else try. Meredith is untouchable. The best Peggy Sawyer ever on Broadway, and the best Judy Haynes I've ever seen.
Firstly, Nadine Isenegger COMPLETELY outperformed Meredith as Peggy Sawyer. Secondly, there are many other triple threat actresses out there, and honestly I don't think Meredith is a triple threat to begin with. Her acting was just plain awful in White Christmas. She lacked the charm and semi-conniving edge that Judy is supposed to have. And I am aware Vera Ellen was dubbed in the film, thank you very much. But Meredith is still NOTHING compared to her. Like I said, Jessica Lee Goldyn would be killer in that part, as would Nadine, Jessica Lea Patty, and many others. Meredith was far from a revelation in that role.

Then there are no previews as the press release says?

Are you kidding me? I don't think you have a clue what you are talking about. Did you ever see Meredith in ABC's Boston Legal? Or in American In Paris in Houston? She's a fantastic comic actress. Judy isn't a well written role for starters. She made it shine. Nadine is a great performer, but much older than Meredith. Meredith IS Peggy Sawyer. Such a special time seeing her in that role. I'm glad I did. She is due for a HUGE role someday worthy of her talents.
You may not agree, but I believe she is Broadway's diamond in the rough...just waiting to be truly treasured.
I can tell you one thing. I won't be seeing White Christmas this year.
Nadine is a great performer, but much older than Meredith.
I believe Nadine is in her late 30s (37 I think, but I've lost track). Meredith will be 34 in November. 3 years is hardly MUCH younger. And 34 isn't exactly a young age to be considered a diamond in the rough. She has been in shows, but there is a reason that she hasn't had her big Broadway moment. She is bland. Plain and simple. Just another blonde, pretty face, with a decent voice and some good dance skills. But nothing sets her apart from the other women of her type. And yes, the role of Judy in the stage version sucks, but I felt that Meredith didn't make the most of it.
I saw the the theatre was already setup the other day, which is how I learned of this. Can't wait, I also missed it last year.
