Well, she's signed a production deal to star in a TV show executive produced by Ellen DeGeneres. There's an unusually scarce amount of info avail as of now (no idea if it's a pilot, been picked up to series, being shot for the web), so hard to say if success will come with it, however Ellen's television ventures on the production side haven't exactly been bountiful in the last decade or so. But safe to say that's what she's doing out there in LA.

I'm not sure what you mean. She's lived in LA for YEARS. Also the father of her child lives there.
Also...Idina Menzel has worked in a number of television shows and movies that cast out of LA. So again....what are you talking about?

Well, those are both only semi-true. For the past 2 years or so, both she and her child's father have resided mainly in NYC allowing Idina to do If/Then (and Taye is currently in Hedwig, of course). However, yes, the two did spend a few years in LA pre-Frozen and post-Wicked, during which time Idina had varying levels of exposure. To date (not including that Disney movie), her most successful venture in tv/film was the recurring role on Glee. It will be interesting to see what she does out there now that her profile has been raised so significantly.

Why does the work matter? She's been successful and maybe she just wants to own property in both LA and NYC. You bet your bottom dollar if I had that kind of cash I'd love a house near the beach and a Manhattan apartment.

I might be wrong, but Idina and Taye had a house in LA, which I'm guessing they sold during the divorce. Taye is based out of LA and I'm guessing Idina stays when she can to keep Walker near both of them. They each have apartments in Manhattan as well.

^She is reportedly working on a new musical with Walter Afanasieff (big time music producer who worked with Menzel on her xmas album). However, I'd guess the television production will certainly come before that project ever sees the light of day.

Yes, you're correct. Both Taye and Idina are bicoastal and have been for an extremely long time. That was my point.
