Heads up for fans - Idina is set to perform and give an interview tomorrow morning on the "Today" show.
What is she singing? Hopefully something from IF/THEN and not Frozen. I would love it if she got to sing "Starting Over".

As this entire week is "devoted to ROCKY ON BROADWAY" on the Today show, I am quite surprised they scheduled Idina Menzel to make an appearance to presumably promote IF/THEN. Wonder how the ROCKY producers feel about that since they most likely paid a pretty penny to have an entire week of interviews, features, and performances.

I'm pretty sure shows don't pay for coverage on the Today show. The only costs associated would be if there is a performance where they need costumes, dressers, etc, but they don't pay that to the Today Show.

Unless Comcast is an investor of ROCKY's, there is absolutely no reason for them to devote an entire week of valuable morning airtime to a Broadway musical. This isn't one performance; this is a series of studio interviews, behind the scenes features, and other ROCKY themed segments. Surely others on here watch the Today show and know what I speak of.
The producers are paying for this. The Today show is not going to do an entire week out of the kindness of their hearts. Sorry.

I agree with Liza. Even talk shows pay for guests. Not everyone, but it happens. Shows like Today Show and GMA fall into that sometimes category.

Rocky's time on the Today show is just a three day thing. Mon-Tues-Wed
The If/Then facebook page just posted that James Snyder will be joining her tomorrow morning so I'm assuming they're singing "Here I Go"... Can't wait!

Definitely the best song from If/Then along with Always Starting Over.
Well there you go...if it takes place tomorrow then there is no conflict of interest. I'm looking forward to it.
Seven hours ago Idina posted, on FB, that Frozen had just become the biggest grossing animated film of all time. She may sing more than one song since she is listed in the concert series. I have a feeling Let It Go will be sung.
If she does sing "Let it go" I wonder if she will modulate it down.

If she's part of the "Concert Series" and they're following the standard format, then she will be singing two tunes. The first around 8:30am and the second at around 9:30am or so. That's how it usually happens at least.
"If she does sing "Let it go" I wonder if she will modulate it down."
I wouldn't spend too much time wondering, this happens in like 14 hours...
Hehe. I wonder if she is sick of that song yet. Lord knows I am. OH CRAP another thing to wonder about for 14 hours!

She sounded terrible singing "Let It Go" on the Oscars. Now, after weeks of doing IF/THEN, singing this already difficult song at 8:30 in the morning could be a train wreck waiting to happen. We'll see.
Idina just posted this on FB 15 min ago...
"Excited to be on the Today Show in the morning. Get to sing a couple songs and share some of If/Then Musical with the world!"

She won't sing Let It Go. This is meant to promote If/Then.
She'll be on multiple times from the 8am-11am EST segment. Interview, performance, interview, performance.

In terms of performances, though, if they are following the Concert Series format they have ALWAYS followed it will be approx 8:30 and 9:30.

Except not.

I watch the Today show religiously. The "concert series" follows this exact format nearly every time now: first appearance at approx. 8:00am (twitter questions in the Orange room), first performance at approx. 8:30am, second performance at approx. 9:30am. The second appearance or interview, if any, usually comes toward the end of the 9:00am hour or halfway through the 10:00am hour with Hoda and KLG.
Great memory. :) However, that is not the case this time. Kinda close. She'll be on very late during Hoda.
Like I have said, she'll be on frequently from 8-11.

That's fine. As I said earlier, "assuming this is following the standard Concert Series format..." Clearly, they are not.
