SO jealous right now! Actually, I'd say "jealous" is the understatement of the century... haha. It sounded like an amazing night. I really hopes she does another one soon.

the sister story is basically that when she was 13 and her sister was 10 was when she (and others) started to discover that she had a unique gift. Her sister started auditioning for plays and musicals in school and people started to tell her (the sister) "that's your sister's thing, you should find something else" and then she started to get choked up...and she talked about how it took her sister years to find out what she wanted to do with her life, as it does for many of us, and now her sister is a single mother of 2 boys, and one night she heard her sister singing a lullabye to her son, and (this is where she really started to cry) it was the most beautiful, haunting song (and voice). She felt like she had robbed her sister of something, that she never got to nurture because idina did it first and it was "her thing"
then she sang a beautiful song she had written last week for her sister.

The story of her and her sister is that apparently her sister used to sing when they were younger, but she was discouraged from doing so because everyone felt that it was Idina's thing, so they wanted her sister to find her own thing. Idina felt guilt about this and upon hearing her sing to her son as an adult felt like she'd "stolen" her sister's talent from her. She wrote a song for her last week based on the biblical story of Deborah (and also sang about her in Hebrew).
As for what else she sang, off the top of my head, Penny, You'd Be Surprised, It Only Hurts When I Breathe, Minuet, Heart on My Sleeve plus those already mentioned.

OMG! That must have been so wonderful!! ahhh now I wish I were there!!

i didnt go unfortunately but from reading so many reviews i feel like she is just amazing. i love that she was so down-to-earth to you guys and just so real. its just...ahh.awesome
A dancer might dream to see her name in lights and mean it,

*seriously in tears* Im so upset that i couldnt get tickets! All i ever wanted was to go to an Idina concert and hear her sing her own songs.....NOW i get to read about the fun times and great show she put on and i cant help but get really upset about it. I know there will be other shows, but probably not like this one.

How big is the Zipper? I kind of picture it really intimate like Joe's Pub.. I love that kind of feeling where you seem as though you are actually a part of it all, not just a spectator in a huge, sold out theater like the Gersh.

I was there w/my friends also. I've seen Wicked seven times but I must say this was just as wonderful.
