I almost posted that line as well.
I would have loved to see one of her shows.

Some guy: You looked great!

Apparently on 8/4 (Today Show, Bryant Park) someone was like "Idina, sing Defying Gravity!" and Idina said something like "I don't know that song."
I really wish I'd been able to make it up for this - she sounds like she puts on quite a show.

Thanks for the heads up Emcee.
No only hurts? Oh well...it's not like I can be there and she did do Penny. I shall go sulk in my lack of Idina-ness.

Posted: 8/21/05 at 10:05pmI think the only thing that was left off the set list was the fact that she does a free-style number. THAT is to DIE for.

Ahh this is driving me crazy! So close yet so far...6 days! I'm thinking after hearing everyone else talk about the traffic that I should get on the road pretty early. I'm going from near Philly to Boston.
Tell us more about the freestyle! What was that about?
I am PRAYING that Taye will be at the show. OMG, if it's possible, that will make the night even better!

Posted: 8/21/05 at 11:03pmThe freestyle was when she takes a random topic and makes up a funny song. Last night was how she wore a cowboy hat and jeans to the beach. It went something like, "Don't go to the beach...in a cowboy hat and jeans...thinkin' you're really cool..." and so on. It was hysterical.

yeah. It's great.
As far as your drive- it shouldn't be bad. The only reason the cape sucks so much is that there's only 1 way in, and 1 way out...1 freggin bridge...and do you know how you get to the bridge? A freggin rotary. Massachusetts roads suck.
have fun :)
Anyone have extra tickets?
Some guy: You looked great!

Posted: 8/22/05 at 2:28am2 ways in and out, 2 bridges, but roads like 28 that run east and west for most of the cape are labelled north and south, ie leaving ptown you are travelling SOUTH on Rt 28 NORTH

Excellent show last night in Providencetown. Meagan, I was traveling from the north (Boston area) to the Cape. No traffic at all. It took about two hours and 15 minutes each way.
The set list was exactly as you listed before and also a good amount of "freestyling" when she introduced the band. She also had a question and answer section in the show where she welcomed anyone to yell out questions and she would answer them. The questions ranged from what was it like filming the Rent movie to what store did you buy your jeans at. She was very cool and made sure everyone had a chance to ask their question. She did do an encore after Defying Gravity. It was a funky version of Madonna's Like A Prayer. She said it has always been one of her favorite songs. The show lasted about an hour and 45 minutes.
Despite the long drive, what a great venue to see a show. With only seven rows in the theater, there's not a bad seat in the house. She said she loved Providencetown and would like to come back again.

Well I really wish she would do "Life of the Party" but oh well. Crossing my fingers she will this friday! I talked to somebody who whent to a p-town show and she said that both TAYE and ADAM PASCAL where in the audience, like in the back row or something but she did make mention to them. My dream is for her to do "look at me now" and have Taye do his little line "sorry kate..." in it too but thats not going to happen

Anybody have pics of any of the P-town shows? If so, please post. I love visuals.
I'll be in Boston on Sat. I'm a little disappointed though how similar it is to the Zipper. I was looking forward to something a little different. though i am sure it will be fantastic.

Posted: 8/22/05 at 4:19pmThe Provincetown Theatre was very strict about cameras, so no one to my knowledge was able to get pictures during the show--which is a shame, as Idina doesn't seem to mind, and a lot of it would've made for some great pictures.
#45re: Idina in Provincetown
Posted: 8/22/05 at 8:10pmthey were camera crazy. It was worse than a Backstreet Boys concert.

OMG...I would love if she did something from Wild Party...didn't she do Life of the Party at one of her past concerts?

Posted: 8/22/05 at 8:21pm^^ Yeah, she sang "Life of the Party" at Ars Nova back in 2002
#48re: Idina in Provincetown
Posted: 8/22/05 at 8:30pmNo what would be the BEST if she got Taye on stage and sang "as long as your mine"!!! that would be amazing! but i would still rather hear "life of the party"
#49re: Idina in Provincetown
Posted: 8/22/05 at 8:57pm...I'd rather hear more of her own material than more theatre songs.
