Aren't contracts typically a year? The show officially opened Mar 30. The Mar 22 date was only recently extended on TM, and they've been extending ticket sales in small week/month batches, so I wouldn't go by the current available date as the actual close date until there's an official announcement. It seems they sell more seats closer to the actual show date as well. Given the lower-age audience range that seems to be most vocal about this show, I wouldn't go to the last one, either, unless you want a headache.
"I wonder if they have overemphasized Menzel at this point in the show's marketing."
They were emphasizing her from the very beginning, with a little RENT on the side I think (Rapp and Greif) in some articles, but no mention of LaChanze's Tony, for example. The timing with the Frozen explosion must have been taken into account, but I find it a bit odd, especially since this show has nothing to do with the Frozen fanbase. Maybe trying to capture Glee audiences? Who knows.
