If they can do "Legally Blonde", what about "13 Going On 30 - The Musical"?

I was watching "13 Going on 30" right now and I think that it is kinda similar to "Legally Blonde". The movie. It has a lot of music like "LB", and it has a warm chick-flick feeling. Just picture it... "13 GOING ON 30 - THE MUSICAL" starring... maybe Kerry Butler or Shoshana Bean as Jenna Rink and Matthew Morrison or Josh Strickland as Matt Flamhaff. What do you think?

First off: http://www.mgmonstage.com

Secondly: NO!

Lastly: HELL NO! Let's stop thinking about which movies we like and would be "cool" on stage and let's start a) thinking up original ideas for shows, b) look for lesser known plays or musicals that could work on Broadway, and c) only choose GOOD films if a film MUST be adapted to stage.
"The Spectacle has, indeed, an emotional attraction of its own, but, of all the parts, it is the least artistic, and connected least with the art of poetry. For the power of Tragedy, we may be sure, is felt even apart from representation and actors. Besides, the production of spectacular effects depends more on the art of the stage machinist than on that of the poet."

haha, I was totally just watching 13 Going On 30 too :P (side note: cute movie, and Jennifer Garner is a REALLY good, or at least really versatile actress because 1)her character is NOTHING like Sydney from Alias and 2)she captured the essance of a 13 year old so well! hehe)

anyway, I really dont think there's need for ANOTHER romantic comedy movie turned musical re: If they can do 'Legally Blonde', what about '13 Going On 30 - The Music I mean many of them do have the potential to be cute if given good music and a good cast (*cough*weddingsinger*cough*), but just... another one would be over kill.

I don't need a life that's normal. That's way too far away. But something next to normal would be okay. Something next to normal is what I'd like to try. Close enough to normal to get by.

Why not just abandon any concept of adult theater or entertainment with an idea altogether and just sit home all day watching television, eating junk food and diddling ourselves? You'd get the same result.

Better yet, they should make Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen: The Musical.

Edit: Yes, I'm joking.

"If this is going to be a Christian nation that doesn't help the poor, either we have to pretend that Jesus was just as selfish as we are, or we've got to acknowledge that He commanded us to love the poor and serve the needy without condition and then admit that we just don't want to do it." -Stephen Colbert

why? it wasnt an artistic success nor that popular. and if big (the movie 13 going on 30 copied) could not work than I doubt this could. Im not saying all movies that are turned into musicals need to be a huge success finacially and loved by critics or even a cult favorite...but it should have been one of the three...

The fact that the "MGM On Stage" site lists fifteen movies they are developing for the stage scares and saddens me.
Tonya Pinkins: Then we had a "Lot's Wife" last June that was my personal favorite. I'm still trying to get them to let me sing it at some performance where we get to sing an excerpt that's gone.
Tony Kushner: You can sing it at my funeral.

Why don't we just consolidate them? Like THE HIGH FIDELITY WEDDING SINGER WAS 13 GOING ON 30 AND LEGALLY BLONDE.
"Impossible is just a big word thrown around by small men who find it easier to live in the world they've been given than to explore the power they have to change it. Impossible is not a fact. It's an opinion. Impossible is not a declaration. It's a dare. Impossible is potential. Impossible is temporary. Impossible is nothing.” ~ Muhammad Ali

DEAR GOD NO PLEASE MAKE IT STOP!
i for one am way over the let's take a movie and make it a musical phenom. (although i admit that i am looking forward to young frankenstein, but that is the exception because one, that movie is brilliant and two, u r talking about a proven first rate formula with mel brooks and susan strohman.)
other than that i applaud the creativity of something like grey gardens which went the documentary route, and spring awakening which turned to a classic 19th century text for its inspiration.
but enough with the high fidelity, wedding singer, legally blonde crap. we're talking second rate movies here people. not first rate broadway material.
