Midler (unfortunately) and Platt are guaranteed at this point, but I have a feeling Lucas Steele could come out on top for Best Featured Actor and leave Gavin Creel in the dust, but we will see!
I truly believe most of the categories are toss ups, so it will be an interesting evening!

Has that ever happened where a show has won Best Musical and nothing else?
"
I don't think that's ever happened with Best Musical, but it's definitely happened with Best Play--just recently, both Clybourne Park and Vanya, Sonia.... only took Best Play (and the next year All The Way only took Actor and Play, so that's 3 straight Tony winning Best Plays with only 4 awards between them)
"
There has never been a show that won Best Musical and nothing else.

Unless you are a Tony voter there's no way to tell that Midler is "for sure". I'm assuming she will win despite the negative cofveve (LOL) anyway nothing is for sure until her name is announced. I love Bette but as it has been said before the other actresses in the category are all vocally and acting circles around her. I'd love to see Patti or Christine win.

I think that it's very possible that CFA and Groundhog Day may walk away from the Tonys without any awards. The competition is very tough and it truly is an honor to just be nominated. Waitress didn't recieve any awards and it seems to be doing just fine. I don't see CFA having any problem staying afloat without any awards. Their marketing is very strong. Groundhog Day, however, needs to amp up their marketing if they want to stay afloat, award or not.

I disagree on Ben. Bette, pretty much yes, but considering she's still up against Patti and Christine...that could either way I feel. But Ben is up against veterans, so for me, he by no means has this in the bag. Don't get me wrong thought, I adore him, I wish I had half his talent.

I loved that show so much. I really want them to hang a marquee sign on Monday that says, "Guys, it was a ridiculously competitive season."

Even though I know this is the Tonys and not Olympic swimming, part of me keeps thinking "Oh but what if there's a three-way tie for Best Actress in a Musical?"

If that happened, it might break the planetary alignment...
Here's an upset for you Either CFA, DEH, or GD is announced as Best Musical...but it ends up being wrong because GC actually won...You know what I'm talking about
