Hey All,
I was just given tickets to the Tony's and of course I accepted them, but I have alittle bit of a problem. Im also seeing Wicked that day. What my question is will I have enough time to get from Wicked to the Tony Awards. I know that I have to be seated by 7pm. If anyone could help me out that would be great! Thanks!

If you don't SD at Wicked you will be fine. If you do SD you might have a problem seeing that it's Steph's last day and it will take them awhile to come out.
were going to try and stagedoor but it its later then 6:15 were not going to....its a play it by ear thing right now
So, Wicked would end around 6ish, you probably can stage door, but if you want to be gone by 6:15 you most likely will not get Stephanie's autogrpah (if she even signs, being it is her last show) because of the shower to remove the green. Now that I think about it, I believe that Radio City Musica Hall is right by the Gershwin, you could probably leave the stage door at 6:30 and be at Radio City 6:40, if you want.
P.S. So jealous that you are going to Stephanie's last!

I'm not one to give advice on the subject, but I hope you have an excellent time! I am extremely jealous.

Defyinggravity, your correct in that radio city and the gershwin are on the same street. Im just nervous of security there. I dont know how tough it will be or how long it will be. We have to be in our seats by 7pm! I just hope i have time to do both. I dont that I will have time to stagedoor and get to radio city on time, but Im ok with that as Im really only going to Wicked to see Steph's show....Yes I would love to meet her but I have already met her twice...So no offense but the Tonys outweigh Steph just a tad lol!
**IF ANYONE HAS GONE TO THE TONYS BEFORE CAN YOU TELL ME HOW LONG IT WOULD BE TO GET THROUGH SECURITY AND HOW IT ALL WORKS! THANKS!!! :) **
Bump...
*Sorry...just trying to get more information if i can*
Bump Again....Sorry
i don't recall security being too bad, I would get there on the earlier side though just to be safe.
Also are you going to wicked dressed up or are you changing after? Because the tony's are black tie and all.
A broadway show and the Tony's - that's going to be an awesome day! Have fun!

Skip the stagedoor. Since you will be one of the lucky few who get to see the Tony's, get there as soon as you can, drink in all the excitement, mingle in the lobby with theater greats and future legends. Defy gravity, traffic, crowds and get to Radio City post haste.
Thanks for all the great advice....Im pretty sure were going to skip the whole stagedoor thing, bc well were going to the Tonys...lol...And yes we will be going to Wicked all dressed up...lol..I just hope were not underdressed at the Tonys...My friend and I were both wearing black dresses...There not gowns but I think we should be ok...and were treating ourselves in getting our hair and makeup done...lol...So Im sure we will be having a great day!
Your question about timing was already answered so I will just say have a wonderful time
Boot it out of WIcked, grab some really quick dinner, and get to RCMH as soon as possible.
Have a great time!
Thanks guys for the well wishes! As of right now are plan is to leave Wicked as soon as we can to get to Radio City...Were not even gonna grab dinner or anything because we have to be in our seats by 7pm. We will probably pack a granola bar or something and buy a water at the theater for dinner...lol...Thanks again for the good wishes! :)
Sounds like you have an awesome day planned! Im rather jealous of you:)
Enjoy it!!
Thanks...I really hope its the day that im building up in my head...lol
I'm sure it'll be great, playhouse!
I'd rather have your Tony-related time issue than mine. It didn't occur to me last week that...see, I'm playing clarinet in a Queens community theater production of Fiddler on the Roof. I coudln't be more excited, it's such a great part, but my sister got me a ticket for the Tonys...and we have a performance at 3 on the 15th. It probably won't end until 6, and I'll be far in Queens, close to Long Island. I'm gonna have to rush like crazy to try to make it in time for the pre-show technical awards.
Actually, those familiar with Sunday traffic on the LIE -- do you think it'll be pretty bad that I should stick with the LIRR?
I'd take the LIRR, because the LIE is going to be packed with people returning from the Hamptons.
The doors open at 6:00 for the Tonys. We got there at about 6:15 and it took us about 20-25 minutes or to get through security. about another 10 minutes to get our program use the men's room. I got my ticket in a green envelope with the Antoinette Perry Award seal on it and silver tickets. Inside there is a card about security. It asks that you arrive early, handheld metal detectors will be used, cameras are ABSOLUTELY not permitted, all purses will be opened and examined and no bags of any kind will be permitted. Right on the ticket it states that the doors close at 7:00 and latecomers cannot be admitted after the doors are closed.
Thanks uncageg for all that info...As of right now its still a play it by ear thing of when we will get to the Tonys because we dont know what time were going to get out of Wicked. We already decided not to stagedoor. So if we get out of Wicked by 6 we can be at Radio city by 6:10. I so want to bring my camera there but i know if i have it with me I will be kicked out for harassing all the broadway stars for pictures...lol
Where are your seats?
