I'm planning on seeing WEDDING SINGER and DROWSY CHAPERONE (plus Monday Nights, New Voices on the 17th)...what else do you all recommend? I can probably see one, maybe two, more shows.
RIGHT NOW: Closing DISNEY'S WHEN YOU WISH at Marquee Productions (Apr. 23-26)

NEXT UP: Playing Albert Peterson in BYE BYE BIRDIE at The Western Stage in Salinas, CA (Aug. 15-Sept. 5)

I recommend POTO, Sweeney Todd ( never seen it, but reviews are great!), or Spamalot. Have fun!
Just because I got the lead doesn't mean you can't be my understudy!:)

You shouldn't recommend ANY show that you haven't seen.

re: In NYC next week...

I suggest Sweeney Todd and The Lieutenant of Inishmore. The second one though may be an acquired taste.

re: In NYC next week...

I'd see The Wedding Singer, Tarzan and The Color Purple. On Monday night you can only pick between Phantom, Chicago and Rent i think. Rent is my favorite out of the 3, but any of them are all enjoyable.

re: In NYC next week...

Sweeney Todd is fantastic. Go see that.
I am a firm believer in serendipity- all the random pieces coming together in one wonderful moment, when suddenly you see what their purpose was all along.

re: In NYC next week...

oh yeah i agree w/ that too. Sweeney is eeeeeeeeeeee!

re: In NYC next week...

I second Altar Boyz. It's cheap, fun, and a great show! Plus, you are practically gauranteed great seats! :)

Hope you have a great time!!! :)

re: In NYC next week...

Altar Boyz is not cheap, $60 to see 5 people on stage? and a keyboard player? not too cheap.

re: In NYC next week...

Wedding Singer and Drowsy are both very good choices.

Try Sweeney and Spelling Bee as your other two shows.

re: In NYC next week...

u should see Rent even though i'm sure u have already, but if u haven't, u should see it because Matt Caplan is awesome in it and he is leaving really soon.

re: In NYC next week...

RENT needs to really be leaving soon. that show is so busted and tired.

Inishmore!
A little swash, a bit of buckle - you'll love it more than bread.

re: In NYC next week...

I'd say see-

Altar Boyz (agreed on the $60 bucks)
Rent (yeah, it's gotten bad press here, but maybe a new Mark will brighten things up, eh? I still will always love the show and its message, no matter how crappy the cast)
Drowsy (in my opinion, the best show on b'way)
Jersey Boys (probably impossible to get tickets)
Sweeney

But whatever your interests are.. read up a bit on each show and see what you'd like
