Last night at KPOP I witnessed a woman being denied entry because apparently she is known for finding ways to get into shows for free by making a scene and demanding to speak to higher ups, and then be obnoxious during the shows? Apparently there is a documentary about her and she has been banned from many theatres? Just wondering if anyone has heard of her before, and if they could provide more context.

I am not saying this to be funny - I haven't seen her in many months and I assumed she died. It's almost comforting to know she's still around.
Christ, I despise this wretched old witch. Maybe she’s been too busy luring children into her gingerbread house to go to the theater lately.

Does anyone know if this documentary has been finished? Would love to see it.
After the cross-the-board negative feedback the trailer and this woman received, the filmmaker decided to stop and revisit the tone and direction his documentary was going to be presented. He apparently was unaware of the double-sides regarding his subject as I think he was originally intending on glorifying her until he learned about all the negative aspects of his subject. Heck, even theatre owners spoke up negatively regarding this woman. It literally stopped the documentary maker in his tracks.

The entire room I'm in just HOWLED laughing over this
I understand why people hate this woman but there seems to be some kind of mental illness involved here. Really sad.
There’s no mental illness there. There’s a ton of people like her and they’re all just awful because they’re awful. She doesn’t get a pass because of some nonexistent “mental issue”.

According to the film’s facebook page, it has screened a handful of times at a few European film festivals, with Cochrane herself making an appearance at at least one of those screenings. It is advertised as “A documentary film about a 78-year-old Indian woman in New York who is the world’s most passionate theatergoer.”

That's like saying Donald Trump is the most passionate president in United States history.
Well, all the info on the Facebook page is from months ago and the film’s official website is now non-existent so that pretty much answers quite a bit. It did get screened in several European film festivals but again, this was almost half a year ago.
I saw her outside DEH in June before a matinee. I did not give her my ticket. I will say that is pretty smart though. Do what you gotta do for what you wanna do.
