#1Into the Woods "stage door"?
Posted: 7/24/12 at 6:46pmDoes anyone know if there is a spot I can take my daughter tonight after Into The Woods to meet/get autographs from the cast? Do they do that at the show? Any details would be great!

Posted: 7/27/12 at 11:04amDont know if this helps now, but I emailed the Public Offices, and they said there is no official stage door, but you can wait by Gate A to see if any actors come out there.

Posted: 7/27/12 at 11:19amThat's about as official as it gets. yes, I suspect there will be a great many people there.

A lot of people who DON'T see the show tend to come to "stage door" when movie/TV celebrities are appearing in shows. I've heard of that happening with Daniel Radcliffe and Ricky Martin, not to mention Catherine Zeta-Jones. I guess getting a glimpse of a star in jeans and a sweatshirt on their way home means a lot to Americans.
So since Amy Adams is in this show, I'd be wary of those types.

I doubt those poor kids had ever heard of Tennessee Williams either.

^ Oh boy.....
All one deserves for waiting for tickets is a GOOD PERFORMANCE.

Their obligation for the people who "set aside to get tickets to the show and see the cast" is to give a good show. And I'll be honest, I bet half the people at the stage door waiting for Ms. Adams, who I am sure is a lovely lady, are gawking morons who "wanna see themselves a real Hollywood movie star."

Good Lord. I wish "stage dooring" weren't a thing. I'm so sick of hearing about it. Let them go home. Why can't pouring every ounce of energy they possess and their heart out on stage for 3 hours enough?

Posted: 7/31/12 at 11:49pmOh I totally agree, I was just saying I think it would be nice of them to come out afterward, but if they don't sure, I would be dissapointed, I always love the experience of stage door, but I would be happy just to see the show!! I'm sorry if I came off rude.

LOL, I was thinking about referencing DOUBT.
I'm all for people coming out of the stage door to sign autographs and greet the fans. It's very nice and when there is someone in a show I particularly love, I'll do it. It did it for Barbara Cook. I did it for GREY GARDENS. But people now consider "stage door-ing" part of the show, and think it's some Equity-demanded thing that actors must do. Actors are contractually obligated to do a good show onstage. They are not obligated to stage door, sign your program, hug you, be your best friend and go to dinner with you after, etc. THAT is the problem.

Posted: 7/31/12 at 11:56pmI totally agree, if they're tired or don't want to deal with fans, I'm totally fine with that and respect that. Although it is very very fun!

I'm glad. You are a classier stage door-er than most. Don't bring anyone a birthday cake, though.

Posted: 8/1/12 at 12:02amThank you! A birthday cake? Oh man, that sound messy! Yeah I totally have respect for how much time and effort all the people put into what they do so I like to get an opportunity to thank them and tell them how much I appreciate them basically all the compliments I can think of start pouring out of my mouth! Haha
