Well, at this point that was pretty obvious.

i love how they say "scheduling conflicts" not :because it sucked"
But LONE STAR LOVE is still opening, right?
Any update on Mambo Kings?
LONE STAR LOVE! Wow, remember that one? How about FIRST WIVES CLUBS, when are we read-ay for a transfer?
More on topic, I was excited about the idea of this potentially transferring, the more time passes the more I'm happy it didn't so we can get a first rate revival of the show, as opposed to settling for something that looked good on paper.

Broadway did not need another stinkeroo revival........the others being Evita and Annie. If you can't top the original-don't bother.

Personally, I think it's for the best. Clearly, it was meant to be an open-air production and they should leave it at that. I mean you didn't see it transferring to the West End either back in '10.
It had to be open-air since it stunk so much.

the better part of that article is that Sunshine Boys might be coming next season, I really want to see that production.
I'm still praying for Lincoln Center to mount a revival at the Vivian Beaumont with an all star cast.
Meh. Whatever. I found the production charming and some of the performances (Jessie Mueller, Donna Murphy, Sarah Stiles) to be very engaging. Maybe not worthy of Broadway transfer but definitely one of my favorite shows of this past year.
Something I'm still confused about: was the problem with this production the actual production itself or lack of preparation/rehearsal? I mean, do the detractors of the recent production also agree that the filmed Open Air version is poor?
I think the production would benefit from a video/film director and editor capturing the live performance. I haven't seen the filmed version, so I can't compare.

Oh well. Maybe it will return to Broadway after the Rob Marshall film.
