I just read in the New York Times, that "The Flick" was making an off Broadway return after having won the Pulitzer. The theatre that they announced that the show was going to was The Barrow Street. Now, I'm aware that if a show has posted a closing notice in one theatre, then it's okay for the following show to announce that they are playing the same space. But, I haven't heard of any closing notice for Buyer and Cellar, could I have possibly missed something?
Did you miss this part?
"The timing of the transfer is to be determined: The hit play “Buyer & Cellar” is now running at Barrow Street, with tickets on sale through the end of August."
There is no indication when this is happening. If Barrett Foa moves a lot of tickets, then who knows if they'll sell past August. Although, he may not be able to stay longer if he has TV commitments (I don't watch his show, so I apologize if I'm unaware if his character recently met a tragic end, etc., heh).
I imagine Barrett Foa will be doing a summer engagement only, since he's on a television show that shoots in LA. My guess would be that the show closes in August and THE FLICK comes in this fall.
Kind of surprised one of the Broadway non-profits wouldn't bring it on board for a few months. Get a new younger/hip crowd in.

Are you referring to BUYER & CELLAR? I don't think the kids these days are really into plays about Barbra's imagined employees.
^That's what you think! I just wore my Barbra shirt to DC the other day and had a whole bunch of older women smiling at me. Which was really funny/awkward because I'm a 23 year old woman.
Ha! No, I meant "The Flick." It's got that hipster crowd, and it's something new for Broadway.
Buyer and Cellar closing July 27. Finally got around to seeing last week, with Barrett Foa, and I loved it. Foa was just so warm and funny and adorable. And the play itself is just so good. Definitely going to see the last performance.
Glad it's coming to San Francisco so I can see it again. Anybody know what the budget was or if it recouped/will recoup?
From the NY Times in September 2013:
"The critically acclaimed play “Buyer & Cellar,” an Off Broadway show starring Michael Urie (“Ugly Betty”) as a struggling actor who goes to work for Barbra Streisand, recouped its $500,000 capitalization in just nine weeks of performances at the Barrow Street Theater, the producers announced Thursday."
