This from Michael "the weasel" Riedel from the NY POST. I always take everything with a grain of salt from him, but if true, this guy is pretty sexy.
Picture is of Reeve Carney.

A better description of her show, she suggested, is a "circus rock-'n'-roll drama."
Jesus.
"As Spider-Man, Peter clashes with a parade of Marvel villains -- Green Goblin, Carnage, Electro, Rhino, Swarm and Lizard"
Wait...they're putting CARNAGE in the show and not VENOM??? Carnage was created FROM Venom. You can't have one without the other. This seems like overkill on the villians.
Taymor said at the presentation that there was one villain whom she wasn't going to reveal just yet, so that very well may be the one you're talking about, Eris.

That's probably it. Venom is the most popular villian in the Spider-Man rogues gallery. Venom is a killer but he has a sense of honor and what's "right". Carnage, on the other hand, does not. I wonder how family friendly the show will be with a serial killer who writes "Carnage Rules" at the scenes of his crimes in his own blood. The others listed can be made evil and yet "cartoony" and not overly violent. I'm not sure they can do that with Carnage.
Maybe I missed something, but what does Jonny Lang (the guy in the picture) have to do with the Spiderman musical?

I have no idea how Carnage and Venom would work on stage.

So the third Hanson boy is joining spiderman? This show gets lamer by the days
This show gets lamer by the days
I didn't think it was possible to get lamer than it was months ago, but I agree.
They couldn't fit three villains into a two-and-a-half hour straight movie, God help us with Taymour wanting fifty.
I'm really interested in seeing how the heck they pull off The Lizard onstage, though.

No worries, Trish. I adore Jonny, so I was just a little confused (and completely unable to picture him on Broadway, even if it is the Spiderman musical).
I'd imagine that they'd have two actors for roles such as Venom/Eddie Brock and Lizard/Curt Conners. One for each persona. It's the only way I can think of handling the back and forth. Lizard, for example, would need hours of make up. No way to go back and forth quickly. It wouldn't matter if their voices sounded different because when they change their voices would sound different. I'd have to ask my brother what he thinks about this. He's a big Spider-Man/Marvel fan while I'm more Superman/DC.

They're putting in all those villains? Really? They couldn't stick with just Goblin or Venom or something? I know Broadway can be all about the overkill sometimes, but seriously. This is over the top even for a freaking Spider-Man musical. (My brain hurts just typing those words, and I say this as someone who loves comics, musicals, and Spidey. Mainstream superhero comics are theatrical and exaggerated enough - they don't need the addition of singing.)
As lame and ridiculous as I want to think this is...
I'm so freaking excited about this! Granted, this is coming from someone who loves genuinely great theatre and yet has seen MERMAID 5 times, only to be sitting, mouth agape, eyes wide in wonder, every single time. I love good theatre, but I'm such a sucker for spectacle. And this, if nothing else, will be one BIG effing spectacle.
I'm really really curious as to how they are going to pull off villains like the Lizard and Carnage on stage. And how on earth are they going to fit all those villains into the show without having it run 3+ hours?
This whole thing seems like a ridiculous amount of overkill, although if nothing else it'll be a gigantic visual spectacle.

I have no idea how ANY of this is going to work on stage!
This whole thing sounds laughable... no, really, every time I read a new article or press release I start laughing out loud.
Ummmm.....did they change the title character to SPIDER-CHICK????
The flamboyantly famous asexual crime fighter?
EWWWWWWWW on the pic of the rumored lead!
