If it is, I can't imagine it will be coming in this season. The Lyric seems to be the best fit for it in terms of a theatre but I can't say since I didn't see the show in Chicago (and also since Paramour has no plans to close).

It's been posted on here before that it was looking at the Marquis, but I don't know if that's still accurate (On Your Feet! is still playing there and hasn't announced a closing).

Yeah I keep hearing the same rumor that it's circling around the Marquis hoping that ON YOUR FEET posts a closing notice.

I think its highly unrealistic for TSM to be doing little other than breathing down the neck of the Marquis. It's had enough time to seek out an appropriate theatre by now. In fact, I've read no concrete update on this show for a long time. Could they be fearing serious competition from Anastasia and Charlie Chocolate? Or...?

The Lyric is not the best choice for ANYTHING in terms of a theater. Except Cirque.

If I recall correctly, it didn't do too well in Chicago, and one of the leads said that he hoped they made it to Broadway when someone asked if it still had plans. Personally I saw it and loved it, but I guess it's not for everyone.

Harry Potter should go to the Hirschfield, not Spongebob. And if Spongebob is looking for a spring opening, I don't think the theater would be open by then.

They might just be bumped back due to no availability? Or maybe cut their loses and just tour the show?

Why would Harry Potter go into the Hirschfeld? That show is going to be massive. Physically and box office wise.

Thanks Lizzie & BC. Apparently I was supposed to read minds?
I maintain that's a terrible idea. But Cindy Come Fly Away Adams knows everything I guess!

Keep in mind that they recorded a cast album in August that they intend to release to promote the Broadway opening (meaning that the show is mostly frozen at this point in time). I'm guessing that they've delayed their Broadway opening to next season.
Personally, I saw the show and didn't care for it much. I sat in the balcony and it was less than half full, even with $25 tickets on TodayTix. Seeing that pulled out many of the stops tech-wise, I can only wonder how they have realistic hopes of recouping.

Yes. They absolutely still intend on coming. They're currently tweaking and doing some more CD. That work, combined with waiting on the right venue, stalled their original plans.

My friend who worked in theater at Chicago this summer told me that he heard rumors that they're also aiming for the Palace.

How would they aim for the Palace if it's supposed to be raised after American in Paris closes?

^ According to Riedel, that isn't happening yet.

“The Palace fits the bill perfectly,” says Blake. “It’s the right size and it looks like Norma Desmond could have lived there.”
The Nederlanders, who own the theater, are planning a renovation that entails raising the auditorium several stories to make room for ground-level retail space. But that project isn’t due to begin for at least a year, and the Nederlanders would be happy to have a booking in the meantime.

its still coming in, just the time table has been pushed back a little

This won't go into the Palace. I can't imagine they'd want a long running tennant in there.
Still think the Marquis seems best.

The Marquis seems most likely. I wouldn't be surprised by a Spring opening for this one.
