Tommy seems to be having bad luck with injuries.
He had the leg brace on his left leg both times I saw him...his first night and the following Wednesday.

No, Tommy does not have a new injury
and no, he isn't wearing a 'brace'. He has a wrap as a precaution -- and it does not prevent him from doing the 'normal' choreography. The only choreography modification he has is a 'leap' instead of a 'flip' off of the piano. I did not see any other changes the two times I saw him.

Yes, both times I saw him he did all the choreography minus the flip as well.
Speaking of, does anyone know what days he was on this week?

Yes, can anyone piece together the rotation so far this week? My daughters are going to the Saturday matinee and are trying to figure out who they will see. I guess the only thing they will know is it probably won't be the Friday night Billy. Thanks

Well, Trent was on Tuesday night.
Also, I have a friend that works on the show and he said Tommy does have a new inhury and has been taken out of the rotation for a while.

That's interesting...
He performed the matinee yesterday. Did your friend say when this injury may have happened? Perhaps this morning during rehearsal? Or maybe this is just more of the BE rumor mill (whack a mole, I believe SVG called it?)

That would have been me...and yes this is quickly getting into that territory.
David was on last night (Wed night) for people keeping track.
hope tommy feels better if he is injuried. Rosie just gave free tickets out for billy elliott on the tyra show. tyra also saw the show already and loved it.
i was wondering if tommy is listed as a billy in the playbill not a billy standby anymore?

He is still listed as the understudy and his head shot isn't with the other Billys. It actually really annoyed me, he deserves credit for what he does just like the others!

A understudy usually doesn't get the same amount of performances as the principles.
I had the opportunity to speak to Greg after tonight's performance. I was explained the same that Tommy will remain an understudy (for the reasons JbaraFan1 just stated) even though he is officially in the rotation.
Also, Hadyn is still recovering from her injury. Per Greg, they're not sure how long it'll take.
Tonite: Kiril was Billy; David was Michael; and Mitchell was the small boy.

I work at the theater and I see the show 6 times a week. The rotation is loose and it's always interesting to see who plays Billy. I got to see Tommy's first performance and I was delighted to see how good of an actor he was. He really brought a youthfulness to the role. The only time I really noticed him faltering just a little was during the Angry dance. He didn't mess up the choreography or anything...he just wasn't throwing himself into it as the others do. That being said, he did an amazing job, otherwise.
Poor kid did the Wed mat show this week and it seemed like he was losing his voice!
I must say that the higher ups must favor Trent. The night that I saw Brian Stokes Mitchell in attendance (who is a Tony nominator) HMMMMM
And I resent being called a swing!!! Swings work hard! I've gotten the chance to talk to a few who are coming in the show in March. They have to learn so many steps and parts. Solidarity itself would make my head explode if I had to learn twelve parts. I think Newbies should be called ... Newbies...or something...

Hmm I do love Tommy but both times I took my mother to see it, she saw him. I'm attempting to get her to see someone else and it is becoming increasingly difficult.
is haydn out of the show because of her injury...?

No, this is her scheduled vacation.
bythesword84: I know what you mean, I am still waiting to see David and Tommy. Hopefully I get the chance this Wednesday.
ah ok, thanks! is anyone else out on vacation?
any idea which billy is going on tonight?

not sure, but Trent went on last night, so I don't think it will be him. I do think that it may be Kiril though. Updated On: 2/28/09 at 12:24 PM

Has Tommy been on? Also, does anyone know who was on for the matinee and who is on this evening?
