And what is your problem with a landmark television series that is arguably the best comedy series of the last 15 years? Is it because you're a pretentious ivory tower intellectual elitist snob who hates ordinary people who work for a living?
And how many times do I have to ram it through you show tunes queens' heads--Broadway is *commercial* theater. Always has, always will be. Its necessity is to put on *commercial* productions that will draw audiences and turn profits. "Legally Blonde" does that. Sondheim, Adam Guettel and Michael John LaChiusa don't. If you want "art," GO TO THE FRAKIN' PUBLIC!
I rarely see new movies, preferring older ones like those appearing on Turner Classic Movies. But I saw the film of LEGALLY BLONDE, not expecting to like it, but I did like it--I found it very funny. So, knowing that I would be coming to NYC in May, I chose LEGALLY BLONDE, the Musical, thinking that it would be a funny, enjoyable show. Well, it wasn't funny and it wasn't enjoyable. The cast runs around like crazy for no particular reason and sings songs so fast that I can't understand the lyrics. For me, LEGALLY BLONDE was a bomb. Unfortunately, the star, LBB, isn't strong enough to carry the show. The only thing I liked about the show was the all too brief appearance of the dogs. I should have seen CURTAINS.
I feel like its almost a sell-out on originality.
I can't wait to see it and hopefully be proven wrong.
Yeah, I think musicals like Wicked are less of sell-outs than Legally Blond. Legally Blond the musical is a garunteed hit, while there was a teeny bit of risk in musicals like Wicked or Rent that they wouldn't catch on and be hits. But even if Legally Blond was truly the worst musical ever, it would still be a huge hit because of the movie fan following...
I think Shrek would be a wonderful theme park show. I can't believe it's seriously being considered for Broadway. Maybe a national tour playing Madison Square Garden, but Broadway? Why?

Because it would sell tickets--a concept your idols Adam and Michael John have yet to grasp.

i COMPLETELY AGREE. unfortunately, all they care about anymore is money. paramount or whoever's producing probably know that it will be a huge hit.
