Reports don’t need to be written within minutes of an infraction. It would have waited until after the performance.
To have a “mediation” or sorts with a company manager, PSM, or GM on the other hand...

wow, how the drama and stores can escalate based on speculation.
BWW only said to the conductor "i cant hear you" once - at the top of the show. There was an apparent sound issue because, as an audience member that night, i couldn't hear the music through the speakers either - it was directly from the orchestra pit. BWW's said that and we could clearly hear it in the mezzanine so, yes there was a sound issue.
That being said, the rest of her performance WAS robotic however she didn't break character or have an altercation with the conductor the remainder of her time on stage throughout the show.
Intermission lasted 30 minutes and after "who's house is this" they announced Janis would be played by Olivia Kaufman for the remainder of the performance. I don't know where anyone is getting the idea that they also announced a replacement conductor...!? I was there, that part about the conductor was not announced.
That is truly all the information that anyone will have unless someone from the company of MEAN GIRLS says anything.

"As an actor, I've definitely felt like I've had off days - and I've had fellow cast-mates tell me when they felt like they were having an off day. But an "off day" for us usually means that we made several small mistakes that made us feel like things were a bit off-kilter. Or maybe we cracked a bit on that big high note we always dread. Or maybe we felt that we hadn't QUITE connected to the emotions of the scene as fully and completely as we usually do."
Actors are human and sometimes they are not as good as they want to be but as long as the actor is putting their best effort into the performance that is all anybody can ask. In addition, I am willing to bet you are much harder on yourself in regards to your performance than other people would be.

This is blatantly wrong. When you go to a Broadway show, you expect to see the top talent available. That's why you paid to see a Broadway show and not a community theater production. Not everyone in the audience takes the viewpoint of the most adoring parent.

Posted: 11/14/19 at 4:10pmYou honestly won’t meet a more humble and hardworking performer as Mary Kate Morrissey. I hope they let her play Janis on Broadway at some point of the show continues to run. I also hope an eventual run as Elphie on Broadway happens for her. She’s a gem. If Barrett doesn’t appreciate this opportunity fine, let someone else do it.

True, but in that case, the director/producers/casting directors are to blame for casting someone who isn’t up to the task. If the actor is trying their best, that’s all anyone can ask of the actor.

They mentioned the change of conductor to Mary-Mitchell Campbell in the same announcement. I remember turning to my friend at the time and remarking that it was odd to change conductor mid-way through the act

Why would she say "I can't hear you" to the conductor? He's not talking. He has nothing to do with the sound at all. Walk offstage at the first opportunity and tell someone she can't hear. That said, how can she not hear LIVE MUSICIANS who are playing directly in front of her.

Wow this all reminds me of Heathers when Barrett left that production really abruptly, with no explanation ever given as to what went down. Still no idea what really happened. I know with MG everyone’s speculating based on speculation, but to leave (if she has left MG) 2 shows mid contract abruptly feels like it could be a pattern.

Broadway is the very best theater district in North America. The best of the best. People come from all over the world to see these shows. For her to give a half assed, robotic, terrible performance because she was annoyed or over it is just ridiculous. If you do that, you should be replaced the very next day. I understand they have contracts but that just can't happen. Maybe they told her to take a week off and figure some stuff out or she's gone. She will have a difficult time finding work on Broadway going forward, in my opinion. Nobody really tolerates difficult, problematic theater actors these days.

Seconded. It’s one thing to have an off night maybe once. But to come back from an extended break and then pull this? I wouldn’t be so certain about someone’s future with a production if they can’t give 100% every night.
