(ELPHABA/IDINA is sitting on the bed, GALINDA is standing over her)
GALINDA
Your whole life is gonna change and all because of me! Now, (GALINDA pops up, walks to her pillow, and pulls out a book) I wrote a book: How to be Popular. Now, I put together a top ten list of how it’s going to help you. Elphie, everyday, shower! Who knows, maybe some of that green is going to come off! Deodorant, Elphie! Nobody likes a stinky witch! I think we’ve covered the hair…we’ll get to that! Clean underclothes!...That’s all I’m gonna say…(Sees ELPHABA/IDINA slouching) Look at your posture! (ELPHABA/IDINA sits up) That’s no way to be popular! Bed made, room straightened, we’ve done that! Colors blended…The most important thing to have to make yourself popular is to keep your beautiful smile!
ELPHABA/IDINA
Thank you!

Posted: 7/18/05 at 2:37pmI was at that performance. I'll admit I cried a little. It was an emotional show. The lottery was insanity. I did not win, but one of my friends did. She was actually the first name called.

Posted: 7/18/05 at 2:40pmI saw her last performance, along with Norbert's and Joel Grey's, although Joel Grey was out sick. However, he did come out for a bow at the end and I remember shrieking like a schoolgirl when he walked on. It was a really great performance and during curtain calls, everyone had his/her camera out and the whole theatre was full of flashes. I got some really nice photos myself. I will admit that I cried. But mostly because I got to see Joel Grey, after having been devastated that his understudy was going on. God, it's been a year since I was in New York. I miss you, NYC!!!

yes i am 17 and will not be ashamed to admit my cheno love!! but i will also admit that i am not a wicked groupie. i am aware that kristin's birthday is on sunday, but i will not be baking a cake for her like i did for sondheim.
the only broadway show i've ever seen in NY was the last wicked performance before the tonys two years ago. it was some good stuff. damn me not living in NYC.

Silly, Elphie can't take showers. Water makes her melt.

Posted: 7/18/05 at 3:48pmHah, yes, I saw the last performance, it was VERY emotional. I loved Kristen's Book, although I was not as pleased to see JLT with a book almost like that on her last night...

Maybe it was like in the book when Galinda didn't know about the water thing?

It's been exactly two years ago yesterday that I sat on the SECOND row of the Gerswhin and watched Kristin rip off her fake eye lashes!
There are two main things I remember about that day:
1. Me crying during Popular b/c that meant that the show was almost half over (and that I'd be heading back to GA the following day)
and
2. When KC's bed didn't come out for Popular, Idina said something like "For Heaven's sake, it's the girl's second to last day! Give her a bed!"

i don't really have an opinion on whether it's necessary to bump this thread every year, I'm just glad I didn't lose my mind...I didn't pay attention to the dates and was scratching my head thinking "it's been like TWO years since she left...hmmm..."
random, but I feel better now

Posted: 7/19/06 at 11:57pmSargar, I was thinking the exact same thing. I was at that performance (biggest memory? those people taking pics during the show and ruining it for everyone else) and thinking I skipped a year in my life!
