I think they are both fantastic, the best Wicked cast I've seen maybe. Carmen's got a great belt. Katie's 'Popular' is hilarious.

I'm so confused. Alma Cuervo did the talkback yesterday and said that someone else was taking over for her--completely blanking on the name but it was something something Taylor.

Obviously, "Jackee" is someone impersonating the real Jackee Harry. Several sources hve said the rumor is completely false.

Not that it means much...but on Wikipedia it says that her start has just been delayed because of a TV pilot. But it uses that myspace as the source so...take it with a grain of salt.

I've had confirmation from a cast member (who shall remain anonymous) that Jackee is NOT the new Madame Morrible.
The show is in good shape. Seen it 4 times here in Rochester. Katie is out on vocal rest for two weeks (she will be back for Buffalo - Melissa Bohon is in for her), Carmen was out this past week on vacation, (Donna was in and was fabulous), Lee is out this week (vacation), Brad has been out - not sure why (Adam Sanford in for him), Paul Slade Smith was out this weekend (not sure why), Andrew Madsen has been out this past week, ...the list goes on.
There have been a lot of understudies going on (as you can read). My suspicion is the close proximity to NYC, the chance for some folks to go back home and check in, and potential auditions.
The show is in good shape. Seen it 4 times here in Rochester. If I were an audience member for the tour right now, I'd be quite upset that you're basically getting an entire replacement cast at the moment.
Not to take anything away from the talents of the understudies, but still...they should stagger these vacations a bit.

I'm glad to hear Katie will be back for Buffalo. I'm traveling home pretty much just to see her since I've seen the show multiple times.

Having seen the show 2 times in the last week, I will admit it was quite disappointing having 3 pieces of paper in the program announcing the leads were out. Although we were pleasently surprised at Donna Vivino as Elphaba - she was one of the best Elphabas that we have seen. She did a great job. We actually saw Meggie Cansler as Glinda and the first show (last Thursday) I did not like her very much, but I did enjoy her much more on Sunday. Even with the understudies, the show is in great shape and very enjoyable.

adam greer: I agree. It is a bit disconcerting for audiences to open a program and see 3 to 5 slips of paper in there. The understudies have been doing great, but I do think it would be a good idea to re-evaluate the vacation schedule.

I personally am usually really really excited to see understudy slips when I see shows. I even write down what understudies I saw in the program. lol I'm a nerd.

Well, from the post above, it looks like the whole regular cast will be back in for the Buffalo shows!
Opening night here is not until 6/18.

I'm going the 22nd and the 24th.
Any word of lotto? They do it in some tour stops. I assume after season ticket holders are done after the first week or so, the first couple rows could become available.

I don't want to stir the pot but I got another response from supposubly Jackee.
I really appreciate eveyone's support throughout the "Wicked" negotiations but in all reality the process was just taking too long. I decided to take on a local directing job for a theatre near my house instead. Also, contrary to the belief's of many of the people on my friend's list, I am not filming a television pilot. I would like to, but the opportunities just aren't there. I am, however, rapping up a small part in a film called "Lovers or Friends" a sequel to "The Ski Trip".
Thank you again for your support and any questions that you may have that are not business-related (as in you want an autograph, to hire me, etc.) please send to this page instead of my official page. They don't like to answer so much whereas I will try my best to get back with all of my fans.

The weekly entertainment section of our Buffalo paper today listed only Katie Rose Clark as Glinda and Carmen Cusak as Elphaba. There was no mention of Jakee in the article. Performances start Wednesday.
