For evidence that gay men can pass for straight, one needs look no further than the Republican party.

His response doesn't help anything, given that the crux of the article was that HE doesn't believe ANY gay actors when they play straight- and was pretty cruel about it. If George Clooney were to come out, this schmuck would say "Look at George, mincing around in Up in the Air."

He says was trying to start a dialogue. The good news, it did. The bad news, the dialouge is that he's an idiot.

Not saying I don't think the guy is a jerk, but the truth is, the attention that the whole debacle has brought to the topic is a good thing.

"The gods who nurse this universe think little of mortals' cares. They sit in crowds on exclusive clouds and laugh at our love affairs. I might have had a real romance if they'd given me a chance. I loved him, but he didn't love me. I wanted him, but he didn't want me. Then the gods had a spree and indulged in another whim. Now he loves me, but I don't love him." - Cole Porter

Exactly. What did he expect the dialogue to be? "Yeah, Mr. Newsweek man, you're totally right. Gay actors should only play gay people. Let's change the game!
