Shame Santoriello isn't Dr Mannette/involved, but glad to see it's J Mark McVey.
Does it not seem to anyone else that this might not be a typical concert format? Or they are just in rehersals in squirts..?
Also: anyone know when Brandi plans to come back to Mamma Mia! ?

""This recording just better not fall in the can........or if it does it better be like the "DRACULA, the musical" one!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
Sorry, not understanding this comment. And it looks like the recording in underway and with some different cast members: http://jmarkmcvey.blogspot.com/ "
Thanks for posting the link!
And I just meant that all this work/re-writes/additions went into the "concept" album for DRACULA, the musical and then they just pulled the plug on it. Somehow it got leaked to the internet and now a lot of people have it / it's on that site (YT) even I think...!

Agree about Earley's voice-- He performed at a few of James'
concerts at "Sardi's", and he was great !

Kevin Early has a wonderful voice. He was brilliant as Anatoly in LA's Chess concert. Too bad in "Tale" he did not have too many chances to show his beautiful voice.
If only he and Barbour sing "Lily's Eyes" together, I will be in music heaven.

"Should we go to the west end board and offer bribes to people to rob the studio?"
Ha, totally!
Does anyone know if the Charles Darnay looks anything like James Barbour? I had hoped they would have casted Derek Keeling again, who I thought looked appropriate opposite Barbour. But it looks like it's a British guy? Any idea??

I couldn't open the myspace page, but I think I know who it is, already (his name was mentioned in ATC before, and I had looked him up).
Since I am a bit late coming unto this thread (busy week!), I'd like to comment on a couple of things:
"Oh there is NO way I can wait until December for this!"
...me EITHER! It will be like torture to wait for SOOOO long to get to hear this amazing cast, singing these amazing songs, which like everyone here, has been something I've longed and sighed for since Tale closed.
Ummm...I kind of like the Eris0303 idea!
Whatcouldbebetter...(taking on your name, that is) well, that you posted the link to Mcvey's site! Thanks!
And DAME, we are not "sick", just better informed than you are, apparently. I don't want to start another senseless discussion here, so PLEASE, don't go on about it, since I will not respond, but perhaps you might want to do some research about the "accuser", and how this case came about. It was established long ago that Barbour is NOT a pedophile, and continuing to suggest so is totally unfair and outdated. This guy is a phenomenal singer/actor, and he has tremendous dedication to his craft...like we all, he deserves a chance to work, and if you want to call it a "second" chance, so be it, but move on, we beg! Thank you!

I'd rather wait for it to be mixed and cleaned up first, actually... :P

THANKS SO MUCH for that Simon Thomas link!! Seems to look a bit like Keeling, and def looks more like Barbour than Aaron Lazar did!
Great to see all those updates - but it looks like I may have guessed right on the concert thing. Having a narrator telling the story, "walking down the street where the guillotine was"/"where Charles Dickens was..." etc. with the songs in between. Irregardless, glad to see that the DVD is happening.
Still cannot wait until December!

Also .. any speculation about what the "surprise"-esque ending that Barbour was talking about? I'm sure it has something to do with the fact that Sydney was .. left high and dry at the end of the Broadway show,...I'd always pictured that a better director would have highlighted Lucie or the daughter...or something as to remind him why he did what he did...??
Also: anyone think Ressurection Man made it in there? Haha
Haha: Why won't Jill end our speculation on this board!!!!

In the Sarasota run the show ended with Sydney climbing the steps and Charles, Lucie, and Lucie standing together highlighted by a spotlight.
In the novel Charles and Lucie had another child, a boy, named Sydney. The surprise could be about that.
I didn't dislike the the way the show ended on Broadway. It was so abrupt and that really played on your emotions. He's standing there singing and then the curtain came down. It really tugged on your heartstrings more than having the Darnay family standing there.
ETA: Maybe Resurrection Man is back. The song, itself, was not bad nor was it performed poorly. In fact, the song on its own is very enjoyable. It just seemed ill-placed. Perhaps with the new format James refers to it fits better.

I loved the way the show ended on Broadway !!!
Thought it was extremely moving !

I really feel like this is going to be a series of narrators highlighting the plot, and then cut: song (with the cast in costume/sort of on a set that resembles what is was...); then narrator / repeat.
I wish they did that on Broadway. I can honestly say there was maybe .. two or three huge problems from the Broadway version: the directing was just amateur-ish and unoriginal, even lazy at parts (like the ending...so much I feel could have been done?). I highly doubt that would have changed the reviews...but who knows.
Maybe "Until Tomorrow" will have been replaced too. I always felt that was the only huge problem Jill should have changed. In fact, I rather like it and I can tell there was no intention of immitating "One Day More," but adding the Sydney lines made it more ODM-esque, not to mention the titles are synonyms...!
Also: interesting you bring up that plot point, I could certainly see that being it...
What about the song "No One Else," also by Cruncher in Act II? (or by the Concept Album standards...?) I sort of always liked that song since hearing the concept album maybe 2 or 3 years ago, but don't know how it fits into the story...? Maybe some bonus tracks will have it.
Ahh I really cannot wait at all!
