Ask the cats.

If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it? These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.

Her name was not Susan?

#53

Janice

It will all be revealed in the musical. No spoilers please. I will say that they don’t call that one cat Yum Yum for nothing.
#54

Janice

Now can we start dreamcasting the show along with dream director, librettist and score writer?

I'm afraid I've said too much.

Tina Landau directs Janice the musical starring Patti LuPone as Janice and Jenn Colella as Susan
#58

Janice

obviously Susan should be played by EMMY ROSSUM!
"Contentment, it seems, simply happens. It appears accompanied by no bravos and no tears."

Janice

Yum Yum MUST be played by Betty Buckley. Music perhaps by ALW. Directed by Julie Taymor.

Janice

I really feel like there should be a Man in Chair type of role for After Eight.

This thread is freaking hysterical.

We don't see her, she just makes noises.

Can the adult cats please smoke?
#67

Janice

Alice Ripley as Janice
Phillipa Soo as Susan
Alex Brightman as Susan's boyfriend
and hot chorus boys as the cats

Only if they smoke in elaborate, dramatic fashion ala Bette Davis/Greta Garbo while pulling off some Fosse dance moves.

Ken Davenport must be Executive Producer.

Janice

Also, if the cats smoke, that may explain what happened to daughter number one. Secondhand smoke kills, folks.
#70

Janice

Will they use real or puppet cats or will they just refer to them? I really want to see the real Fluffy.

"I hope your Fanny is bigger than my Peter." Mary Martin to Ezio Pinza opening night of Fanny.

I think it’ll be like Avenue Q with the cat puppets being clearly operated by humans. I still want the human puppet operators to be chorus boys smoking long cigarettes while landing those Fosse moves. The one exception is Yum Yum who will be played by Bette Buckley.

That’s it, Dollypop. You’re now cast as the incontinent cat with an affinity for a certain musical by Jerry Herman.

I was thinking the Blue Man Group could play the cats. And who's playing Janice's ex husband?

Got it. So no hot chorus boys then? Can Blue Man Group pull off the requisite simultaneous puppetry, smoking and Fosse moves? Also, I do believe Alex Brightman has been cast as Susan's boyfriend. Is that the ex- you’re referring to?
