Barbara Cook!
Thanks, MB. I was trying to think of her name for the longest time now (well, like a week)!

Oh I think if you look at every Tony Winner from the past ten years, it should be fairly obvious. Again, I don't know that she's for sure doing it, just that she was supposedly offered the role.
And no, it's not Idina Menzel.

How do I find the Tony winners of the last 10 years? And did she win for a musical or a straight play?

You mean you don't know them by heart, Rathy?

And keep in mind she's playing the same role as this girl:
They don't look especially alike but when you figure it out, you can see how they could resemble each other. Its all in the jawline.

If it's a musical win I HAVE someone in mind. Though It could be totally off. This woman is in her early 40's.

Okay, I've been thinking of someone for a little while who's not a singer, just don't know if the jawline fits...is she doing a national tour right now?

The woman I have in mind is NOT a singer, but won a Tony for a musical leading female role, that doesn't call for the best voice.

But is she known for being neurotic? That's what's wrong with my guess - she's not - I have not heard that about your idea either.

That's the only thing about our guess that's confusing. Because I don't believe she's known for being neurotic.
But looking at pictures of her, I can easily see LMK playing a younger version of her.

But why would they cast such a talented singer in a non-singing role!?
I hope this Jayne girl has a good, strong soprano voice.

^ If you're talking about LMK. She won't be singing the Beggar Woman's parts. She is going to be "Lucy" in flashbacks. The woman we are all trying to figure out will play the crazy Beggar Woman, and will sing her parts.

That's what I mean. LMK has a great singing voice. Flashback Lucy does not sing. Why cast a great singer in a non-singing role??

Oooh. I see what you mean now. Well she is probally just too young all together for the Beggar Woman. and they obviously went with an age appropriate Johanna. So Lucy was probally the best fit for her.
