Holy Moly! If angels are real, they sound like her. Was anyone able to see her live? Her "I'm here" is probably one of the best things I've ever heard on a professional stage. The woman is insane!

I saw her in the first national, several times and each performance of hers was nothing less than vocally jaw dropping.
She is the best sung Celie out there. Hands down.

No I don't think it is. I have never cared for much of the score, but "I'm here" is a home run.

Color Purple has some great songs.
It is NOT a great SCORE. Very different animals.

here's Bayardelle in the RENT tour as the Seasons of Love soloists who, IMO, is the best to ever sing it.

A Chorus Line revival played its final Broadway performance on August 17, 2008. The tour played its final performance on August 21, 2011. A new non-equity tour started in October 2012 played its final performance on March 23, 2013. Another non-equity tour launched on January 20, 2018. The tour ended its US run in Kansas City and then toured throughout Japan August & September 2018.

She was fantastic in the role and it was thrilling to see live. It's thrilling to watch her perform I'm Here (in the show, where the energy was more intense than other performances) -and i watch it often.
