Jeopardy Broadway Catagory#1

Watched the early telecast on Channel 55
My God, were those questions easy. Why not do a Wildhorn catagory or one on flop musicals?
re: Jeopardy Broadway Catagory#2
Posted: 4/26/07 at 6:32pmBecause it's a general knowledge show, not one where the hardest questions of every subject should be asked. Common sense please!

They were still easy
People who go on Jeopardy are supposed to know a ton of stuff
re: Jeopardy Broadway Catagory#3
Posted: 4/26/07 at 6:35pmDo you remember the questions in order to post them?

It is on here right now... the first was about Grey Gardens
Edit: They just finished the category... and all of them were extremely easy.

They went through the Broadway category before the first commercial, so if anyone wants to tune in they should get there early

Here are the questions, if anyone is still interested:
$200: "Grey Gardens" is a musical about Edith Bouvier Beale & "Little" Edie, eccentric relatives of this first lady
$400: [Video Clue] The Lady of the Lake and the Knights of the Round Table sing the showstopping number "Find Your Grail" in this Tony-winning musical
$600: "Here Hugo again", quipped Playbill when this long-running musical returned to Broadway in 2006
$800: [Video Clue] Since 1988, more than 10 actors have starred as the Phantom of the Opera here on Broadway; but it was this actor who won the Tony
$1,000: "The Ladies Who Lunch" love this composer's "Company", which began keeping company on B'way again in 2006
re: Jeopardy Broadway Catagory#10
Posted: 5/11/07 at 7:06pmBumping this because "On Broadway" was a category on tonight's Jeopardy. They exhausted it before the first commercial.
re: Jeopardy Broadway Catagory#11
Posted: 5/11/07 at 7:11pmEh, those aren't terribly easy...to us, yes, but not the general public. It's certainly tougher than the Broadway category they recently had on a kid's edition, where the highest-valued question showed a picture of the Wicked Playbill and asked for the name of the show...
re: Jeopardy Broadway Catagory#12
Posted: 5/11/07 at 7:28pmThere was a Wicked question tonight that asked "Which show has the 'Behind the Emerald Curtain' tour?"
re: Jeopardy Broadway Catagory#13

Can you remember what the other questions were?

The clues were mostly about straight plays -- one involving the President involved in a series of 1977 interviews with David Frost (hiding the title 'Frost/Nixon'), one involving Angela Lansbury's return to Broadway in Terrence McNally's 'Deuce' concerning what sport, and the name of Eric Bogosian's play about an acerbic talk show host revived in 2007.
There was also the aforementioned 'Behind the Emerald Curtain' tour question, and the fifth was about quirky kids like William Morris Barfee participating in "The 25th Annual Putnam County" what.
EDIT -- Here's the actual clues as written:
$200 - Memories of Watergate infuse the play inspired by David Frost's 1977 interview with this ex-president
$400 - Quirky kids like William Morris Barfee compete in "The 25th Annual Putnam County" one of these contests
$600 - When in New York, take the "Behind the Emerald Curtain" tour, a behind-the-scenes look at this bewitching musical
$800 - Angela Lansbury returned to Broadway in 2007 as a former champion in this sport in Terrence McNally's "Deuce"
$1,000 - Revived in 2007, it's Eric Bogosian's play about an acid-tongued talk show host

Posted: 5/11/07 at 11:57pmyes they are always easy...but its fun to see what the question will be.
re: Jeopardy Broadway Catagory#16
Posted: 5/12/07 at 11:15pmWas the Phantom video clue the shot with that guy Jimmy on the boat rowing through the candelabras as he asked the question?
re: Jeopardy Broadway Catagory#18
Posted: 5/12/07 at 11:24pmCool. I was there when they filmed all the Phantom ones. They must have done about 10 of them, this was probably 3 years ago. Interesting to see they're still using them. I've only gotten to see two of them on TV before. We were at the theatre until about 4am that night, but it's still one of my favorite Phantom experiences to date.
