I know.. SO WHAT? But I feel like I wouldn't be a good BWW member if I didn't share. I guess Ventura Blvd is doubling for Jersey???? Tons of cute Guido type extras everywhere.

That seems fast... would that mean they've recorded all the songs, completed rehearsals, etc.?

Eastwood is famous for being on-time and under-budget as a director, so maybe so.

I grew up in North Jersey, old enough to remember, ok? And just gotta say I'm disappointed. There are still lots of cool neighborhoods in Belleville, Nutley, Lyndhurst, and North Newark, with those old two family houses, pizza joints, and dive bars, and if you're looking for Guido extras, they're all still here.

Many of the storefronts on Ventura Blvd are circa 50's/60's, and with a little redressing, it can easily double for NJ or the streets of New York.

Really looking forward to this film.

Where on Ventura, Dame? Studio City........Encino.....Tarzana, etc...

Disappointing. The areas of Jersey that are represented in the movie could really use the revenue and jobs that could come from a big movie like this.

In this day and age of green screens and the like, it's probably easier and more cost effective to not shoot on location. Who knows?

The magic of filmmaking can turn a portion of Ventura Blvd into a street in NJ or NYC. Who knew?

now it looks like they are doing exteriors downtown. I wonder if they are using some of the old movie palaces. Sorry but no pics. As a jaded industry has-been and LA resident I avoid shoots and sets. It just happens this shoot was working my hood. They are also shooting a commercial on Coldwater. Very irritating.

I wonder what diner. They always use the theaters in downtown in movies... that is why I was wondering if they would be using them. Sometimes they just use them as a holding area for the extras.

They must be doing principal photography as well as some crowd shots at the same time. Central had rush calls today for extras in both downtown and valley locations.
