Posted: 6/18/18 at 2:49pmOddly enough, I've never seen WICKED, so, a few weeks ago, I bit the bullet and picked up a ticket to see the show for the first time on 7/25. I would've been happy to see Jackie Burns, but I'm excited to see an Elphaba who has people so stoked!

She starts the day after I leave NYC UGH
Hopefully she’ll be there for awhile so I can eventually see her!

Posted: 6/18/18 at 4:22pmIf you can, you must see Jackie before she leaves. She is a marvel in the role and will go down as one of the best (and longest running Elphaba on Broadway).

Agreed. It's a win-win situation here no matter when you have tickets. Both Jackie Burns and Jessica Vosk are outstanding. Two of the best voices to have sung the score.

Curious if other leads are leaving in July as well, or just Jackie. I seem to remember a mass exodus the past couple of summers. Amanda Jane Cooper seems like she's been playing Glinda forever (although she's excellent). I haven't seen the current Fiyero but one of my friends described him as "the handsomest piece of cardboard you'll ever see."

@bwayrose7, I don't know about other roles but I know Amanda Jane will not be leaving in July via her posts about getting to play with Jess again!

I was there tonight. She’s a stunning Elphaba. Vocals are better than ever. The rest of the cast is great too, Kevin Chamberlain is an absolute joy as the Wizard.
There has never been a more perfect time to return to the Gershwin!

Sorry to bump - does anyone know if she's been performing the Sunday matinees? I know it's common practice on broadway for the Elphaba's to not do one of the Sunday shows, and want to know before I pull the trigger. Any experiences are helpful! Thanks all :)

Posted: 9/8/18 at 10:26pmShe mentioned on Twitter she wasn't taking any specific days off, she plans on doing all shows, so she does perform them, barring sickness or vacation, I imzgine.

It's not common at all on Broadway for them to take Sunday matinees off. Jessica however took most Sunday matinees off on the tour though.

She typically does! Also just to note, Mariand Torres was on at the matinee today (possibly her last show ever, she leaves in a week or two).

^ Case in point. I'm not trying to start anything, but it's no secret that a lot of Elphaba's do unofficial 7 show weeks. It's usually the Sunday matinee. Glad I didn't go to the lotto!

On Broadway they only have the 4 show weekends for a few months so no it's not typical for them to do unofficial 7 show weeks. That being said Mariand is amazing and you probably would have seen her last show.
