Amen to that. I have talked with his girl friend on e-mail and she is very nice, and I think she is very good for him.

The Macy's Day Parade sounds like they are lip synching to me.

Um, already covered earlier in this thread. Every show lip-synch's in the Macy's Day Parade. Every. Single. One. =)

Unfortunately, for public figures that are libeled a landmark supreme court ruling (N.Y. Times v. Sullivan) has made it very difficult for such individuals to prevail in a libel case.
In other words, even if a guy like this critic says something false (and which could negatively affect a public figure's reputation or career)it would be up to the plaintiff toprove the publisher knew the statement was false or acted in reckless disregard of its truth or falsity.
Reidel knows all this as does The Post so basically if the claim isn't too outlandish they can get away with it.
I'd really like someone to put this guy in his crosshairs and explain his motivation for publishing this.
It would seem obvious to some, but I would like to hear
from Reidel himself WHY he trotted this story out now.

I will say that they are doing a great job making it look like they are doing it there.

Except that nothing was plugged in. Including the keyboards.
So the "girl"friend is "tall" and blonde and gorgeous? How tall? Visible Adam's Apple? Big hands?

For $135,000 it looks good, I never said it didn't.
This entire thread is rediculous.
Can anyone really tell when seeing the show that he is being doubled. IMO, no. Then even if this whole thing was true, it shouldn't matter.
It's not the end of the world if this is or isn't true, nor is it if this loses him votes. Tony voters aren't stupid. It's not just about the singing; it's about the acting too.
I'm sure JLY gives a tremendous performance, regardless of whether he wins the Tony or not.

Maybe Jerseyboylover can check in with JLY's girlfriend and send along our good vibes?
"is the press gettin to Him"
He was out today
He has scheduled off days.
Michael Riedel has his facts wrong, which is what happens in gossip columns
I'm going to wear his attack like a badge of honor!!
Thanks for your support,
JLY
He was feeling under the weather today, but will be in tomorrow. Saw the matinee and Dominic Nolfi went on, he was good, but not as good as my JLY.
Oh hey, new_philosophy_girl ... you were at the matinee too? Actually, I wasn't really disappointed. For my third time at the show I didn't mind seeing someone else's take on Frankie. I disagree with people who say the show isn't the same without JLY... it held up fine and Dominic was great.

oh I agree. I thought dominic was just fine. it was interesting to hear a 'belter' version of Frankie. Plus his acting was wonderful...very innocent.
JLY had a stomach virus and was out all day Saturday. He was back in Sunday and sounded better than ever.
Bob Gaudio would not let the show go to Broadway without the doubling. JLY sings the high notes, but sometimes is doubled by Michael or Sara, just to get the sound. If you notice, the entire cast sings to "Sherry", "Walk Like a Man"...almost all the songs.
