hmmm I wonder if John and Michael hang out in that area where all the stage doors are for the Golden and Majestic theatre. It certaintly is convienant .

yea for John. haha side note story about this, i was at a restaurant across the street from Avenue Q and he told me that his friend was johns b/f and now i find out who it is. though i am jealous, thats okay im happy he is happy. okay random moment over haha

okay, not to bring the happiness on this thread down, but am i the only one who thinks that they are not a cute couple? not meant in a rude way, but they just don't match or look good together in my opinion.

I saw them together backstage at JohnT's solo show at Joe's Pub, his bf is a hottie! They do look cute together in person. I noticed that John's bf was wearing that same white turtleneck at the show....

mywonderwall, that is an extremely rude and superficial comment to make. I hope you don't choose a partner based on how good they look beside you on opening night, or how well they match your home decor. And I certainly don't hope you judge other couples by how they look beside each other, either.

For the record, I think John and Michael look like an adorable couple.

calm down, it was just a comment. of course the only opinion i can make of them is one based on outward appearance since i don't know them personally. i'm sure they mesh well and have a connection, i was just saying...don't take it so seriously.

everything is based on looks. especially in this business it's unfortunate, but that's the way it is. john probably would not have even been cast in the show if he wasn't as cute as he is. get over it.

Two comments: 1st: Would anyone consider it an invasion of privacy if John were straight and photographed with his girlfriend? 2nd: Would the same (I think pretty tasteless) conjecture about their sex life have been made if John were straight and had a girlfriend?

Cats. Just because you are photographed together doesn't mean you want to be "outed". I don't know either way in this scenario but I agree with Baritone here, Broadway.com doesn't give much consideration to privacy as a general rule.

If a celebrity attends an event with someone, it is not an invasion of privacy to photograph them together. This is a public event. If a celebrity is openly gay, as is John Tartaglia, it is no more an invasion of privacy to say that X or Y is his boyfriend than it would be to state the same about a straight celebrity. Privacy and secrecy are two completely different things. Respecting John's privacy is not speculating on who is on top and who is on bottom and the capacity of Michael's mouth to take something inside it. This is tasteless and reflects badly on the gay community and on Broadwayworld.com. That he has a boyfriend is no secret; therefore, in no way has John's "privacy" been violated by Broadway.com's caption, which indeed celebrates the relative openness of the Broadway community as opposed to the still mostly deeply closted Hollywood one.

I don't know where you all have been, but Broadway.com has photographed the two a couple of times together in the past few months. This IS the first time that they've been officially labelled. That sort of leads me to believe that they purposefully didn't do it earlier.

Agree and Disagree.

Photographing people together isn't a violation of anything. And violation is such a harsh word anyway. The choice in words for a caption are just that, a choice. A caption with a hetero, gay, friends, or whatever the relationship may or may not be is a choice made by whoever is doing the captioning.

It's all speculation anyway as we were not there nor do we know if John said "Hey! take a picture of me and my boyfriend" or if the photographer just went up to them and asked a group to pose.

My point was that just because two people are photographed together does not mean they want the nature of their relationship, if any, to be revealed publically.
