The national tour of Joseph opened the other day and i was wondering if anyone saw it? I was going to go see it and i wanted to know what it was like.
Just what this world needs another production of JOSEPH... with a lead too old and a Narrator that cannot do the part justice vocally. Woo-Hoo!
i will def see in Palm Beach in DEC
I am a huge Joseph fan, but I am starting to get a little tired of it myself.
Amy Adams does NOTHING to make me want to rush out to see it.

I saw this tour when Debbie Gibson was in it with PC.
Eh...
I saw the previous tour with Donny Osmond a few times and if this current tour is anything like the last Cassidy/Gibson version, then I will def. opt out of seeing it!
It's hard to see shows lose quality and production value!
Just my 2 cents.

Nothing to beat Laurie Beechman - EVER - but what a crowd pleaser this show is. Gotta give it that . . . . .

I think the tour is in my area right now. I've seen previous tours so didn't have any particular interest in seeing it anyway, but as soon as I saw Amy Adams was playing the narrator I wanted to run as far away as possible.

why? just because she is off of American Idol? I personally like her and like her voice. I am fan of many broadway shows too but i never seen this show and everyone keeps saying how hard her role is. Is it a really difficult role or do you guys just think she isn't capable of doing it?
Does anyone here have a full cast list for this tour that they could share? I haven't found one yet. Thanks!

You're all stupid. Amy Adams is a good friend of mine and she's WONDERFUL! I'm not seeing the tour till it hits Cali, but this is Amy's first escapade in something this big. She's done musical theatre her whole life with long runs, but nothing to this scale. Give her some slack ya'll! Also, it's Joseph... nothing too fancy. Just saying, let her get comfortable with this new situation. Thank you.
P.S. Sorry about the stupid thing. I was upset cause Amy is a great person and a great friend. And thanks to those who support her... she needs it.
I did the tour with Jon Secada last year, and it was one of the most fulfilling experiences of my life. The show was fun, and our cast was amazing....onstage and off. That's what truly makes a show enjoyable. I've heard from a friend of mine that was in my cast and that is in the new Joseph tour that the new production lacks the heart and fun of our production. I've also heard that Patrick Cassidy is too old for Joseph and Amy Adams can't handle the role vocally. The role of the narrator is crazy demanding....especially to sing 8 times a week. I think stunt casting is silly...especially if it comes down to being able to sing a role or not. Producers today would rather have a 'name' than have someone who can solidly perform 8 times a week. And, that's the sad state of theatre these days. Just my 2 cents.

Just got 'em!
Will be posted soon...
Looks like Marque Lynch from American Idol is also on the tour as Judah. He played Tyrone off-Broadway in Fame.

I did the national tour for a year and a half and it was the best experience of my life. Things changed when the gibson/osmonds, etc came in but still, we had the VERY best cast (IMPO, better than the other productions that are using our costumes and sets currently) and had a blast.
"Joseph" is a crowd pleaser. It ain't brain surgery. And it's short and sweet. We were back at the hotel by 10:30pm. Can't beat that.
I wish this cast all the best.
(It still makes me laugh though that our bike helmets are out in full force as we speak...AHAHAHAHA...Don't you agree, NYCDNCR?)

"I was a cast member of this tour for a long time and we kicked ass...this makes me sad."
"This is my old tour that I was on for quite a while and this makes me sad."

whatyouown..
jealousy is unattractive..
attack nycdncr too..he said he was on "tour" also...not just me.
I will be seeing it when it comes to Indy this Spring. I'm always up to see Joseph. It's a fun show...
However, I'm not too thrilled w/ Broadway in Indy this year. I still need to move to NYC.
BUT WHY ALL THESE OLD JOSEPHs
Come on, isnt he supposed to be a teenager through out most of the story.
Its almost as bad as donny osmond in the movie.
Funny that your defense for everything is jealousy...try something new.
I agree w/ Justin. Why is Joseph so much older? I'm sure Patrick can pull it off vocally but I would have thought it would have been someone younger... Nothing against Patrick at.
