Oh, Addy, if they can't even pay for the rights for the things they do, they certainly can't afford to pay the audience. Silly girl.
"The Golden Girls: Live! was an Off-Broadway show that opened in the summer of 2003 and ran until November of that year. The production ended its run because the producers failed to secure the rights to the show. The play was served with a cease and desist order by Susan Harris and Paul Junger Witt, creators of the original television show. Featuring an all-male cast, The Golden Girls: Live! consisted of two back-to-back episodes of the sitcom."
These were the same people...

"The Golden Girls" thing just posted an audition notice on Playbill.com not long ago. So, either they've acquired the proper rights, or, they're letting "Judy and Me" take some heat while they go ahead with their production.
Personally, I won't be seeing either of these productions. There's just too much good tv...like...um..."America's Next Top Model," or something...
the Golden Girls production currently casting is a different production from Golden Girls live that you are referring to.
Finally, hope for my long-awaited STEEL DRAGNOLIAS concept. NO one has ever thought of doing that before, i can't wait! It's trademarked, beyotches, step back!

I think it sounds interesting. Why put it down before it even opens or before you see it. Well, maybe that works because now I WANT to see it!

Ok...HATES to bring this back up but walking by last night, I couldn't help but notice that the slippers are now SILVER!!!
So from what I've heard, they went from Red, to Green, back to Red and now they are Silver. All kinda brilliant.

Silver is the color of the shoes in the book The Wonderful Wizard of Oz by Baum. So this makes a bit more sense......
Not really. The silver slippers have no connection to Judy Garland.

I'm aware of that.
Edit: Just to be clear, I meant that Silver makes more sense than the green (not the red). Secondly, to many people Judy Garland is Dorothy, and Dorothy had silver shoes in the book. There's your connection.
I realize that very few know of the original color, and Garland' Dorothy is equated with the Ruby Slippers, but if the Ruby Slippers can't be used...I am happy to see that they are using silver.

Wouldn't it be smarter perhaps and maybe even easier to just take the damn shoes off the marquee and just have the yellow brick road or something?

agreed.
And actually, two out of the three pairs of shoes on the marquee are actually very, very light silver (almost white) with ruby red bows to indicate whose shoes they are. The third pair is a bit darker silver with the red bows (at least to my eyes).
Let's get one thing straight: I never heard of "The Red Shoes." I never saw "The Red Shoes." I don't give a sh** about "The Red Shoes."

That's how I feel about this marquee. It's mildly ridiculous that people from this show keep finding reasons to bring it up on these boards.

Maybe next it will be just her socks because she can't decide what color shoes to wear!
Thanks for the laugh, bdwyopal.

The show is closing, right? so who cares about the marquee?
