Oy. Whoever said this is a wonderfully written and acted play either wrote it and acts in it or has never seen it.

This is one of the biggest pieces of crap I've ever seen...and I saw Scott Allan's "Piece" reading so that's saying something.

It's just a vehicle for a fourth rate drag queen to mug to the audience. The only reason you even know she's portraying Judy Garland is because they say so.

It should never have left the duplex with it's cliche topic and overacting. I saw it back at Rose's Turn when the young lead was a fine actor, but even he couldn't help but get sucked in to the pretentious dialogue.

Luckily it won't last long considering even Hairspray can't find an audience anymore.

i collect misguided shows, too bad i didn't see the PIECE reading. However, someone did just send me a DVD of a new play-with-music about rentboys that makes NAKED BOYS SINGING seem like WEST SIDE STORY. It's wicked perverse fun to watch such trainwrecks.

i wanted to see Gold's show because i really like her. And i've heard such mixed things about BINGO...some love it (in various incarnations) and some hate it. i need to see it for myself.

Speaking of Gold, is that other Jewish stand-up show any good (FATHER'S SOMETHING, MOTHER'S SOMETHING, I'M IN THERAPY or whatever)?

Mac made his writing/directorial debut with the show under the alias Charles Tolliver.

Why not just say, written, directed and starring Peter Mac/Charles Tolliver.

Is it a coincidence that JOHN is both the name of the Producer/Lover of Mac/Tolliver and the name of the person who joined to tell us how great this show is?

Why dont we let time be the judge... only time will tell what happens with this show.

No matter your feelings on whether New York needs this show or not... the message is positive and there is a reason it is being told... the reason is NOT so that Mr. Mac can perform Judy in front of an audience... because he does that regularly anyway.

The point is to give the discussion about homophobia and violence in the schools a platform on a broader level ... but in a creative way.

From a person within the production, the aim has always been to bring this issue to focus with anyone who sees it.

One of my biggest problems with this site and others like it is the needless negativity and harm-wishing that occurs in these types of threads. If the show isnt for you then so be it. But there is no need to be so aggressive in negativity.

Sueleengay you are one of the worst that i have known, if you have done what is implicated in this thread that you have done, i find that absolutely disgusting.

SO many people joining the board just to post about this "hot mess" of a show. People are all either haters or lovers...ain't nothin in between. Which says to me they are either the producers or people who've had to deal with the producers.
