There goes Seatgeek's Broadway deal with Jujamcyn I guess... Family just got an alert that their SG tickets for The Book of Mormon have been moved over to ATG ticketing.

honestly no complaints here since I find ATG ticketing much easier to deal with from a user interface perspective (no clue how their customer service is in comparison though)
This really shouldn't be surprising since Jujamcyn is now part of ATG.

Yes and this means ATG can collect the fee instead of farming out to a third party.

Yes.
And they probably didn't switch over sooner because of an existing contract with SeatGeek and/or a wish to make sure they had the right infrastructure in place first.

It was always so bizarre that Jujamcyn went to SeatGeek in the first place, so this is a huge net positive for them both in customer service control and their bottom line given they're making revenue from the fees themselves.
This is in line with the other 3 main theater owners. Shuberts have Telecharge, Nederlanders have Broadway Direct, now ATG has ATG Tickets for all houses.
Something that may not be appreciated quite as much here is that the industry has been severely hamstrung from a data standpoint having so much under the TicketMaster umbrella for so long. It meant that a huge chunk of buyer data related to demographics, purchase behavior, etc was under lock and key with TicketMaster. Hopefully now that all of the owners control their own data, the League will be able to better understand the marketplace in ways they haven't been able to before.

Not sure if this is for all ATG/former Jujamcyn theaters but when I went to the St. James to buy Sunset tickets in person yesterday, they removed the option for tap to pay/Apple Pay. Just an FYI in case others run into this (someone ahead of me only had Apple Pay as a payment option so they had to leave the line)

Odd that the most tech-forward theatre owner would get rid of that, but I've never understood the appeal of Apple Pay anyway, Credit Cards are small and easy to carry around!
What kind of cut does Apple take from the merchant for enabling Apple Pay? Could be cost-prohibitive for in-person b.o. sales when no service fee is being added.

I think Apple takes .15% if is the same from launch, in other words, it is minimal. The real reason I think is probably they can't track customer data as easily because the credit card number is random for every transaction. I think this is the reason Walmart never accepted Apple Pay, they want to be in control of the data.

I think the point of the OP is it's not just Apple Pay but any tap to pay has been removed. Yes, credit cards still have the chips and stripes, but tapping to pay is so much easier and faster.

In order to disable Apple Pay, I believe you have to disable all types of contactless payment options. If data is important to ATG, they would rather forgo contactless payments, and lose a sale or two.

I myself would rather get the sale instead to support my tenants, but I don't own a theater chain.
In a response to another question I saw in the thread, the reason you would want to use Apple Pay is it is more secure than a normal credit card because a random token is generated every time you use it so it can't be reused like a normal credit card number.
Overall I'm thrilled with the ATG experience buying tickets.
Except the the bizarre pricing. Would rounding up to the nearest .50 or dollar kill them?

While sales are crucial for business sustainability, supporting tenants can foster long-term relationships and community goodwill. Even if you don't own a theater chain, considering how your decisions impact tenants could lead to a more balanced approach. The security features of Apple Pay can enhance consumer confidence, encouraging more people to adopt it for their transactions. This is particularly important in an era where data breaches are common and consumers are increasingly concerned about their financial safety.
