I wish that I was in NYC tonight!
I can only imagine how responsive the audiences will be at shows like Kinky Boots or Fun Home!
If any of you are lucky enough to be at any of the gay-themed shows tonight, please post a report of the audience reactions (just no spoilers)
Thanks!
I was thinking how explosive Broadway is gonna be tonight - not just those two shows! I think it will be a great night for Broadway all around! I'm excited to hear about what happens!
About to see Jeremy Jordan at 54 Below. I hope he sings something gay-ish.

I'm excited to be seeing a Broadway show tonight even though it's not really gay-themed. I'm seeing the Curious Incident but it will still be amazing and a lot of fun to have seen a show on this day in history!

A friend of mine is heading to the city to hopefully win lotto for Hedwig. So if she wins and something happens I can let you know.

I said the same thing to my friend earlier today! I really wish I could be at one of those tonight!
Just got back from Fun Home. It was truly a once in a life time experience tonight. In the middle of curtain call, the understudies came on stage with a pride flag in "ring of keys" pride shirts. Beth then wore it as a cape and proceded to take a lap around the theater and gave an amazing speech. I honestly wouldn't be suprized if they could hear the audience in up in the Gershwin!!! It was truly electric.

I was at FINDING NEVERLAND tonight and after regular bows, the curtain came back up and each cast member was holding a rainbow Playbill in their hands, some had them folded so only the rainbow title was visible. Audience responded very loudly. Nothing too big, but it was neat nonetheless.
I would've sobbed so hard at both those stories. And was Sydney on tonight?
No Gabbriella, was on again, but according to a house staff member Sydney will be back tommorrow. I think it was a scheduled vacation this week.

Did Kelsey Grammer, Republican, participate?

I was at Kinky Boots on tour tonight and after the regular bows, the whole cast including swings came on while one ensemble member made a great speech. Ended it with a short encore performance of 'Just Be'. Everyone in the theater, audience and cast had so much enthusiasm and energy. Great ending!
Each member of Significant Other's cast held a different colored paper behind their backs as they bowed. After all took their bows, they triumphantly held up their signs together - "love wins," "marriage equality," etc. Gideon Glick danced around a bit with his. Pretty special.

I was at Mamma Mia tonight. At the end of the show, when Harry usually says to Donna "yours is you and Sophie, mine is me and Nigel" regarding their different families, Ben McHue, who was on for Harry, said "mine is me and Anthony".
After speaking with Judy McLane after the show, I learned he changed it to reflect Anthony Kennedy! Pretty neat. Not sure many people caught on, though. :)

adamgreer From what I remember, I believe he did.
Nothing big or anything, but here on the west coast, I saw Jarrod Spector perform in San Francisco, and at the end of the show he made a little comment about how how proud he was to be in San Francisco on this day of all days, and got a huge cheer from everyone. Just a nice little acknowledgement.
What a beautiful night. Tyne Daly gave a gorgeous curtain speech discussing her marriage in the 1960s to a black man, and how it was illegal at the time in 17 states. It was quickly struck down in Loving v. Virginia. She continued to discuss her pride in the country and in her show (which, in its way, through silly comedy, is about love of ALL kinds). It was quite moving. I hope video of it surfaces.

Sydney was definitely sick at the start of the week..Gabby didn't find out she was unexpectedly going on until right before call time on Tuesday.
Whether or not Sydney had some additional scheduled time off at the end of the week or she was still sick - I don't know.

My friend saw Hewig last night and in general the audience was VERY responsive and into the show.
Hedwig added this line after the first song of the show:
“Welcome to the Belasco for this one night only, Supreme Court approved engagement! It’s a very important day that will open many doors for many of us. Usually when people think of large openings, they think of me.”
Then the crowd went wild.
They also apparently projected rain bow colors to the wall during curtain call and Darren Criss yelled "time to go celebrate. let's have a ****ing party".

Was at Kinky Boots on Broadway . Billy Porter gave the most amazing speech.
What a wonderful thread to read. Thanks to all for sharing your stories.
Hedwiginch, they always light the set in rainbow during the curtain call at Hedwig, just letting you know!
