I was dissapointed. I purchased the Stage Stars version, which was the only one available on Amazon. The orchestra is basically a trumpet and piano and the CD with the cast singing along is not very good. The singers are barely audiable. Did anyone buy the other Wicked karaoke CD? Please let me know if the other one is better. I think the other one was from PocketSongs. Thanks so much.

I believe the other one is better. There was a review of the two on the DressCircle message board a while back (don't think it's still there but will pop over in a sec and have a look) and I believe the SS one was slated whilst the Pocket Songs one was apparently very good.
Will post the review from DC in a sec if it's still on the board.
It was like 30 dollars! I am very dissapointed.
The review's dropped off the board, sorry.
not sure which one I have...but its great. Full orchestra on the karaoke tracks.
Yeah, the SS one pretty much sucks, while the Pocket Songs one is wonderful. I actually didn't buy the SS one, but I knew it wasn't going to be good since thier Chicago one was pretty bad.
im very sorry to hear that... i bought the other version of the wicked, aida, and rent karaoke cds for my younger sister, and i was plesently surprised. too bad you didnt post before you ordered or we could have saved you 30$!

I used to have over 3o broadway karaoke CDs (for work purposes) and they were all stolen. Those babies are expensive too! I am so sorry that you feel as if you wasted that $30 - I certainly know how you feel. I'll make sure not to buy any CDs from that company.

The other one is really good. There are no backing tracks - just orchestrations - and it's closer to the original. I put it on all the time, it's relaxing to listen to the instrumental....
WiCkEDrOcKS, since you bought it on Amazon, I say put it back up for sale in the used section, sell it to someone and then buy the other one on another website...
Thanks for your help. I think I will purchase the PocketSongs one...does anyone know where I can find it? LOL

I went to Pocketsongs.com, and they didn't have a Wicked karaoke CD. But I googled it, and came up with
http://www.musicexpert.com/cd/8900551.html?dm=10093
I don't know if that's the one you have or not. I want to find someone who has that, so I don't waste my money if it is bad.
thats the one I have. Great orchestrations. Best karaoke cd I've heard.
Thanks SOOOOO much MizBrOaDwAY!!
Sorry about all the questions but how are the vocals on the PocketSongs CD, cause they STINK on the one I have.
Random Thought: Why isnt No One Mourns the Wicked on the PocketSongs one?? Oh well...

only the SS karaoke CD has the vocal CD. the pocket songs doesn't have the vocals. Also, the difference between the two CDs is that SS has "no one mourns the wicked" and "i'm not that girl"; while the pocketsongs has "dear old shiz" and "i'm not that girl (reprise)".
hope that helps you!! I had my music store order both of them for me because i couldnt choose. Now that i hear the orchestra is better in the Pocketsongs, i'm gonna get that one now!!
thanks!!
DEFYINGGRAVITY- Just so you know, the PocketSongs one only eliminates No One Mourns the Wicked, Something Bad, and March of the Witch Hunters, not Im Not That Girl.
Just revieved the PocketSongs version and its a hell of a lot better than the StageStars one. It is recorded with a full orchestra and for some songs, they blend the actual orchestrations from the CD which makes it sound even more real. My only two complaints are that they dont have a second CD with a cast singing along and that they have Dear Old Shiz rather than No One Mourns The Wicked which is kinda odd. Anyway, go to colonymusic.com and order the Wicked PocketSongs karaoke (its the one with the witch on the cover). Its worth it. :)
"and the CD with the cast singing along is not very good. " Wickedrocks, you didn't think EVERYONE was bad on the Stage Stars CD, did you?
